I am deaf and communicate by sign language, and I was wondering if anyone on the island knew sign language - regardless of if the person is a novice or an expert signer.

I'd be very curious to learn of the Papiamentu sign language (does it exist? I have no clue...). Jackie and I would like to simply meet someone during supper one day during our vacation just to chat.

Liz at Golden Reef Inn knew some fingerspelling and a handful of signs - it was cool to know that. It's always a treat to meet people that knows some signs.

Matt

papiamento sign language exists. It is taught in special schools in Curacao. I know a few deaf people on Bonaire but have never seen them use sign language.

My daughter was taught sign in her private school as a second language for 4 years. I worked with deaf individuals for years. My last educational appointment I had a deaf student. ASL was the second language taught in our middle school. I am VERY rusty but...
