Ok, this thread is supposed to be for Dutch people, but I write this in English anyway, so everybody has a chance to know what it's about. For Dutch-speaking people I recommend the book 'Dòsplak 'i boka'. In fact there are two books, a coursebook, and a reference book, and two cd's to practice the pronunciation and learn to answer spoken questions yourself. It really is an excellent and up-to-date course. At my city in Holland they have it in the library, and I know they also sell the course now at the University Library of the Free University, Amsterdam. By the way, as I also know enough English, I tried the two cd's mentioned in this form 'Vocabulary builder' and the other one. They're kind of 'cute', but I got bored very soon, and some of the games on the cd which are supposed to learn you Papiamentu are more about memory than any language-insights. If you really want to learn something more than colours and short sentences, you should consider the course I mentioned. I believe it's about 50 euro to buy. I hope someone can use this information! |
