Pretty slow on the cams this morning so I just wanted to add I have 32 days left to my first trip to Bonaire (Capt. Don's). Then I can stand up in front of all you and say, "Hi, my name's Glenn and I'm a Bonaire-aholic." :-)

Company coming....we will be on that boat in 14 more days

Kevin, in the case of much of the BT-ers, just try to speak dutch, it is hard to understand for an American or someone from the little island across our little pool, called the nordsee....

Martin, no need to tell the boss, just be sure you are in tight with the pay roll dept so the checks keep coming (fill out a change of address so they get mailed directly to Bonaire)... Pay roll people will be glad to help out if they are offered a free place to stay and party on Bonaire :-) Denise

Home is where the heart is, if my hearts in Bonaire, then I'm only going back to (yuck) work.

Not that I want to make everyone feel bad, but I was Jonesing bad for a dive this weekend. I went out of Miami to an artificial reef/wreck. I was rewarded with a visit from not 1, but 5 small MANTA rays. They cam in off the sand in mid-water and cirled for about 2 minutes. Thought I was going to cry it was so nice.

Kevin, one of the official languages on Bonaire is... yep, Dutch...

I was hunting lobster and had my head under the wreck. It was by chance I looked out over the sand and spotted them. I've been diving 20 years and this was a first for me. If I had I camera I probabley would have forgot I did since I was so captivated by them.

Kevin, I am going to Boca for a week on 2/2.. my family/friends there feel it is too cold to dive but will do one just to make me happy when I am there. I was starting to think all Floridians were too wimpy to dive in "winter". Glad you proved me wrong :-)

Question: What dock is that in the distance on the right side of the North Beach Cam?

Did you get any lobsters???

Air temp was 80, Water temp was 72, visibility was about 40', and the ocean was runinng 2'. I happy to prove you wrong ;-)

1 Denise, but on the second dive on the reef. It's going to be dinner tonight.

Denise: Let me know if you plan on diving. I can recommend a few reliable operations. I would highly recommend taking a ride down to Pennekamp and doing the park. If the ocean is calm you will really like it.

Kevin, please email me the ops you recommend. Keep in mind I would probably have to go with one who could match me up with a dive buddy as I'll be alone this time. Last time I went to Pennekamp it was way too rough to dive, and the only time I dove the Keys the dive master was arrogant, full of himself, and dive location was poor choice. But I don't give up. Last winter I dove off Del Ray (I think? just South of Boca..) and saw a sleeping nurse shark - cool!!- and a sea turtle. Great dive. ...not like Bonaire ofcourse

Speaking of wimpy Floridians. When I was at the Galapogos in 2000, there were a bunch of Florida divers wearing dry suits with long johns and complaining about how cold they were. I was wearing my 3/16"(5mm) wetsuit and was comfortable. The only physical problem I had was that the water was rather choppy with a fair sized swell and I am one of those who get mal de mer easily, and the only seasick pill that doesn't made it worse puts me to sleep. I ended up feeding the fishes several times and spent a good deal of the time above water just trying to keep dinner where it belonged.
