Cynde...Maggie and I used the tire today..it is SO hot and light winds..not too comfy today..I am spent. Wil go get it soon. Jake told me the doggies like to go to the beach but once there they would NOT come in to the gate..in fact they wandered WAY down the beach. I was so scared they would run away. Finally both kids are in. Now if I can find the cat...

By christine Hughes on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 5:11 pm: |
hubby saw this post and told me he will find a shower curtian that has a beach scene get several of them the length of the sliding glass door and hang them up so I would have the view I told him thanks but no thanks would not be the same but appreciated the efforts so now my co-workers are asking what great adventures are you off to now. Well I want to go to bonaire again but hubby says no no to many other places in the world to go and I said fine I have one extra week a year than you do and the girls and i will go to bonaire. But when I told one of my customers about my vacation told me about thier trip to south africa and how they went on safarai and how cheap it really was because you get 11 south african dollars for 1 us dollars hummmmmmmmmmm could that be our next adventure.

it was wonderful at our place at the belmar we had an end unit and because of that our patio had a spectacular view of the water and we got to see dolphins that came swimming by everyother day it was so wonderful I wanted to jump in and swim with them but hubby wouldlnt let me said are you crazy and I said you let me swim with maneating baracuda but sweet little dolphins just because they are huge you wont let me near them sometimes men think so strangly.

By christine Hughes on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 6:52 pm: |
I was so glad thought I got one of those reefcombers guide that was plastic that I could take underwater so instead of saying aw that black fish with the blue spots (yellowtail damselfish) is beautiful I could know what it was really called. I will never look at the underwater world with the same eyes again when we were flying over a land mass with hardly any development along certian coast line of the country not sure if it was hati or cuba I saw all that beautiful water and thought oh how would I like to be down thier checking out what is underwater.

By Annette Bursey on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 6:55 pm: |
Martine and Christine, i thought that dolphins were gentle inquisitive creatures, and would not hurt anyone. Does the TV paint a wrong picture of them. Annie B.

No no Annie,
|
By christine Hughes on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 7:02 pm: |
well i have heard different things from different people once on the local news they talked about that dolphins in the wild have hurt some people but it could be just wanting to keep people from trying to get from jumping in and trying to interact in the water with them as it was while thier was alot of dolphins off the coast. My boss said they went to a swim with a dolphin encounter with another couple and that while her and her husband had never had any kind of surgery thier dolphins let them pet them but the other couple the husband or the wife cant remember exatcly which one had some kind of surgery and the male dolphin kept rubbing against that persons body and the female dolphin wass upset and got aggressive so it was not a good experience and I also heard if it is around your monthly cycle time is not a good time to get in the water with them
|
By Annette Bursey on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 - 7:11 pm: |
Martine and Christine, Very interesting behaviour. Christine you rang a bell their with the montly cycle, I remember seeing on Discovery, a woman diver encountered a dolphin during that time of the month, and he did get quite amourous with her, did not attempt to hurt her though. The thing is, I suppose you just have to be very careful at all times. It just goes to show, also, that all species suffer from jealousy too. Annie B.

Martine, I too would not be a good test, same age group as you, now that's given something away, ha ha! I think everyone dreams of swimming with dolphins, but I think the message is just be a bit aware, if you know what I mean. I think it is time for bed now. More cleaning to do tomorrow whilst dreaming of Bonaire. Love talking to you. Annie B.
