Hi everyone. Martine should have her feet firmly on British soil by now, and on her way to Milton Keynes. She sends hugs to everyone. We had one heavy shower already. Same weather different day. (Message edited by annette on August 20, 2004)

Good morning! Is anyone going to see Open Water (the movie) this weekend? All my non diving friends now have a new reason to think I'm nuts for diving. I may have to go see it, since they all are.

Sure do wish I was holding the T-Bone sign at the reef-cam right now. Counting the days till the 15th of next!! I think there is a problem with the temp for the reef cam does anyone know forsure? Jake used to make those repairs all the time. We really miss you Jake!! Well enough of my petty complaints I hope everyone has a great day and a better tomorrow. Going camping tomorrow and Sunday quarry diving where the viz is 10/15 feet. :-( Wet is better then dry I guess.

Start of sunset and tonight's beach babies.
|
By Kathy Hall (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #360) on Friday, August 20, 2004 - 6:51 pm: |
The sunset goes to pinks and blues, and the kids sandcastle will likely be trampled by the Bongo's party tonight. See the chef with his bbq apron on looking over at them? lol

By Kathy Hall (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #361) on Friday, August 20, 2004 - 6:54 pm: |
Now the blues and purples come out, and the party's started.

Great captures everyone! Annie, stay awake for the sunsets gal You on IM?
|
By Kathy Hall (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #362) on Friday, August 20, 2004 - 7:07 pm: |
Hi Annie, I think I'll HAVE to watch it. It's all my coworkers and family can talk about to me. It's like they've found proof we're nuts for diving. lol It worries me that in the incident the movie is based on, the couple from LA diving the great barrier reef do end up being eaten by sharks after being left behind. I'm not afraid of regular sharks, but great whites, YES! lol I guess I have to see it to be able to defend diving, particularly with sharks (as we do often).

Really getting some nice color on the Bongo's cam as the season changes, or, in Bonaire, maybe not a season change so much as the position of the sun...

Going to read CC on Open Water. Will check later to see what happened this beautiful night in Bon.

Wow, that was informative, so they're making the movie but putting it in the Bahamas. Hmmm. Anyone seen my Bahamas page? lol My coworkers have.
|
By Dilly Dillbream (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #732) on Friday, August 20, 2004 - 7:34 pm: |
Kathy, the interesting part as well, is there was no proof that they encountered sharks...that's Hollywood for ya!...My co-workers were giving me a hard time earlier this week, but I set them straight about sharkies and divers
|
By Annette (BonaireTalk Deity - Post #11897) on Friday, August 20, 2004 - 8:44 pm: |
Kathy. I haven't heard about scuba divers being eaten by sharks. I have seen many news reports of surfers, snorklers and swimmers being attacked though. The seem to think that they are seals. I will watch the movie 'cos I am a land lubber. LOL. Annie B.
