Erik. The answer to your question is, yes, the cams are on private property. Annie B. He's taking a vid of the street cam

Angela, yes I was in Bonaire in August of 2000. Finally going again this June. Never made it to the cams though. Perhaps next time, we'll take a boat dive to the Reefcam and unfold a sign that reads "I'm not coming home."

Erik, Most dive shops will take you to small wall. You can always ask... Last time Divi was there, Capt. Don does come over once in a while, Photo tours does dive there on request.
|
By Angela Cristan (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #129) on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 - 3:59 pm: |
Erik- If you do that, make sure your sign is large and you stand close. we brought some laminated signs last year and the glare off the sun and reflection of water ruined any chance of reading them from a distance. The street cam is your best bet and there's no signs on how to get there. If you want to know though and it gets closer, you can ask anyone here. It's fun to go see and there's a log book you can sign. You can access the signatures on the log book here, too! We've gone (as a group) the last two years. This year everyone is going and I'm not (I opted for Cayman Brac in April instead!) so I will be checking in often starting on Saturday!

Such fun watching the posts here. I leave tomorrow morning for Bonaire and would love to find the streetcam. How do I find it? I don't know how you all manage to catch the great shots that you do but thank you.

Annette- The signs that guy is holding say "Are the pipes frozen" and "Beer gets warm fast here". Our group brought them down last year!

Rod, as you leave Kralendijk, head towards Sara Largo (you'll see street signs). On that road you will go past the round-a-bout (and a big underwater scene mural) and keep going straight. About a mile to two miles down the road you will see a Y in the road, if you go left at the Y (right BEFORE the Black Durgon- a little resort) the street cam is right on your right. They do have a sign saying that it's the street cam so it shouldn't be too difficult to find. You can also ask someone if you are lost in the general area, as most everyone knows where it's at! Hope this helps!
