Morning all, we are going to make everyone green Maritine! Bob and I only have five days to go until we fly to Bonaire. Thank you to the people who liked my profile picture, it's funny how divers and snokellers like other wildlife too, I mean the birds not me!

Let me share my frustration. Both of our 24-hour/7-day a week Internet connections to the outside world from Bonaire are down. The leased line went down a couple of weeks ago, and we switched to the wireless link we had in reserve. Well, Friday morning it went out, then was back up. Then it was mostly down all day Saturday and through Sunday Noon or so thanks to the efforts of a couple of excellent individuals.. Then at some point just before 4:44am this morning the wireless link went out again. To make matters worse, today is a government holiday, and our phone company (the provider of both the leased line and wireless link) is government run (but they call it privatized). I did manage to finally get someone on the emergency service line this morning at 8:30am, so hopefully the problem will be resolved shortly (apparently Friday's, Saturday/Sunday's, and today's wireless Internet problems are separate problems, as best I can tell from my diagnosis...).

|
By AK. Dan (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #891) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 7:57 pm: |
Annie, you don't know about Jagermeister? Best durn cold medicine around. Buy it in the liquor store. Most people think its a liqueur, but, actually, it was concocted by a German doctor as a cold remedy. Its an herbal liqueur. It really does work. Even tastes like medicine. Keep it in the freezer.
|
By AK. Dan (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #892) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 7:59 pm: |
Its 35% alcohol, so it puts you to sleep as well. Had a cold myself a couple days ago. Took two ounces before I went to bed. Next morning? No cold.
|
By Annette Bursey (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #7863) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 8:02 pm: |
Never heard of it Dan. But I will make certain to look for it now. I always drink the brandy or the whisky when I get a cold. Annie B.
|
By AK. Dan (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #893) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 8:04 pm: |
Brandy and whiskey are okay for helping one to sleep. But Jagermeister, being herbal, really helps the cold, too.
|
By AK. Dan (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #894) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 8:05 pm: |

Dan,I'm not sure I will like it if it tastes like medicine! LOL! I've never heard of it either, is it an Alaskan recipe! I think I will fix another hot tottee tonight when I'm done with work I'm going to have to look up Jagermeister!
|
By AK. Dan (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #895) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 8:10 pm: |
German recipe, Cynde. If you like licorice, you will probably like Jagermeister. If not, drink it anyway--its good for what ails you.
|
By Annette Bursey (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #7864) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 8:12 pm: |
Dan I am glad you like to see the sunsets and the flicky. I am never sure whether anyone really likes them or not. I just post them 'cos that seems to be my job. LOL. Annie B.
|
By Annette Bursey (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #7865) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 8:16 pm: |
I haven't tasted licorice for years. But I remember I did like eating it. Works wonders for the, Bowels. Oh no, I didn't want to post that word. LOL. I hope that drink doesn't have the same effect. LOL. I'm still gonna look for it though. Annie B.
|
By AK. Dan (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #897) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 8:16 pm: |

By Mary Mueller (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #742) on Monday, October 20, 2003 - 8:51 pm: |
Freddie - you hit it on the head!!! - you need to keep the bottle in the freezer to keep it icy cold!!!!

i remember jagermeister. First time I tried it was in Utilla, we were playing a silly drinking game. (in my youth, mind you). I said it tasted like rancid cough medicine. Don't know if it helps a cold, but it will put you to sleep very nicely.
