Good morning Martine. I would be glad to join you for a quick cup of coffee. I am at work right now. Before work tonight I went to see the new James Cameron IMAX film "Ghosts of the Abyss". All underwater footage of the Titanic. There was some amazing footage of inside the ship. Still cold here in Boston. We are suppose to be going to an Underwater Easter egg hunt this morning. Too cold for me to dive (not dry suit certified yet) but my boyfriend will be participating. I will stick to above water photography today! Have a great morning.

Good morning, Martine! I will join you in a cup of coffee, but mine will have to be decaf as I have not yet been to sleep tonight. I still love the taste! Sounds like quite a camping trip. It is rather cold here in NJ tonight....way down into the 30's (F)! Way too cold for this time of year. Oh well, at least it is not raining right now. Might get to the low sixties for tomorrow.

Karen, are you always night working and isn't it too tiring ? I used to do 3 nights on 6 days work at Air France for years and it took me the whole week to recover. Fortunately, we don't have to do it anymore, I mean, I don't have to :o)

|
By Cynde (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #6203) on Saturday, April 19, 2003 - 10:17 pm: |
lol seb, i had to go back and look at the "dangling bits"
|
By seb schulherr (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #545) on Sunday, April 20, 2003 - 9:39 am: |
Personally I would be pretty embarrassed to be seen with my gear dragging, it seems not to occur to a lot of people to secure it, of course, I get my face pretty close to stuff sometimes. I guess it's good training? Thanks to our instructor, Buddy Lebenon.
|
By Cynde (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #6207) on Sunday, April 20, 2003 - 10:52 am: |
seb, i wonder if the folks with the dangley bits are renting the equipment and the rentals don't have the proper clips for the computers, et. al., or if they just don't get good instruction on keeping your gear close to the body. diving in kelp, it would be a real hazard to have stuff hanging off all over...and having it hitting along the reef isn't good for the coral either.
|
By seb schulherr (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #546) on Sunday, April 20, 2003 - 9:28 pm: |
Mmm, I can buy that Cynde, except we are talking about less than ten bucks worth of clips of some sort, small enough to take home and back. I think it is bad training. Like the woman Mary asked at Oil Slick leap last year
|
By Cynde (Supreme BonaireTalker - Post #6227) on Monday, April 21, 2003 - 9:57 am: |
seb, amazing that she didn't know what the slimy stuff was...geez...i agree, must be lack of training, or either folks just don't pay attention to that part. you're right about the nature shows, i hand't thought about that one...it would be good if the dive shops checked out divers gear to make sure they have the gear clipped properly, and if they don't they can protect the reef and make a few bucks by having them buy them.
