Planning on making my second trip to Bonaire in Mid November. Any recommendations for renting a Four Door Hilux Pick-Up Truck.

Recommend ABCarrental. The Group 3, Toyota Hilux Double Cabin Truck we rented worked well for shore diving. $325 per week; pickup and drop off vehicle at the airport; recommend you get a solid tail gate if you can; our truck had a net tailgate; I think a solid tailgate would have been better for gearing up. They prefer to communicate via fax, so, here it is: 599-717-3880

My clients and I have all had great rental experiences with Jimeno at Hertz. I prefer the double cab trucks as they offer much room. I am still learning to double park it on Kaya Grande...sometimes I have it..LOL..

Check out Netty's Carrental at www.nettyscarrental.com, she has great deals and very good cars, I think she is the most cheapes carrental on Bonaire with the best service.

I've been dealing with AB Car Rentals. They have been very helpful over the internet.

I read an article in 'The Times' UK business section that Budget car rentals had gone bust. We are renting from Nettys but it may affect others!

It appears to me that the Budget agency (like the Avis and Hertz offices) is a franchise or licensed separate operation, rather than a part of the "mother ship" that just ran aground on the shoals of insolvency. The bankruptcy might have no effect on the local office at all; or the local operator might look to switch banners and go to a different name brand.

And note that Chapter 11 bankruptcy is a way to reorganize finances and get back into black - it's not a "going out of business" bankruptcy (Chapter 7). Many large companies have gone Chapter 11 to emerge as stronger more reliable entities (and others have not, of course).

Jake is correct. The parent of my company (ATT Canada) actually filed under the Canadian equivalent of Chap 11 on Monday. The aim is to come out a viable company.
