Has anyone sailed on the Samur? We were looking at one of their snorkel and/or "green flash" sails and would appreciate any info on them.

Hi Ken! I have had the pleasure of sailing on the Samur several times, and my favorite is the green flash sunset sail. The red sails on the Samur are absolutely beautiful in the low sun of the late afternoon/early evening. I think it is one of the nicest ways to end the day that I can think of. Enjoy yourself!

I'll second Carol's thoughts.....and add mine. The Thai Dinner Sail is out of this world........their website is www.samursailing.com, and you can write them at info@samursailing.com.

My memory of the Thai sail is of rolling waves, sails up, exotic meal prepared excellently, meeting new people....a little piece of time set aside for my husband and I served on a beautiful sea off the coast of a beautiful island / all preceding my marriage to my wonderful husband :-)

This sounds marvelous---it also sounds like someone is a lucky guy.

I recommend the full-moon sail if you're there at the right time. Very special.

We too did the Full Moon Sail, last August It was a real "Harvest Moon", and the whole trip was unforgettable. We will certainly do it again, though the Green Flash Sail also sounds tempting!

A Full Moon sail will be on our "to do" list this year, 44 days to go but who's counting! We're bound to catch a full moon in the 3wks we'll be there.

I just saw a green flash .... of envy! 119 days to go and only one week there! There are so many things my family and I want to do (and have time to do nothing!) there, it is difficult to pick and choose. The green flash sail is on the list, though!

Since nobody is counting, it's ??? days and I will arrive in MECCA on July 1. We have never considered the Samor, but after reading all of this, the Thai dinner cruise sounds great. Can't wait. I think I will have some competition with my wife on which cruise we take.
