I read in a couple of post about a new restaurant, Patagonia. It sounds good -- I am interested in where it is located and what nights they are open for the salad bar/buffet. I don't know street names, just geographical locations -- so if anyone knows where it is, how about telling me using some landmarks

Ok...let's try this. You know the main road going through town? Take that north. If you go past the harbor, you have gone too far. It is on the left hand side of the road and is in those buildings on the south side of the harbor.

patagonia is owned by the family that started casablanca. they opened patagonia a number of years ago (four years maybe?). it's located on the south end of the harbor village marina.

Dang, y'all sure post fast!! I suppose it may not be new, but I have not heard of it before -- so my assumption was it is new. I think I know where it is from the descriptions above. I'm just trying to find some new places to try (new to me). So is Saturday night the night to go for the big salad bar and all you can eat meat?

Oh...so if Pagagonia is owned by the Casablanca family -- are the 2 restaurants much different? My initial glance at the pdf menu looks similar. Is one better than the other?

Both the Saturday and the Tuesday evening are meat lovers evenings with the all you can eat.

Good, if owned by the same family, we can eat for 3 days on one meal!!!

For their all-you-can-eat evenings on Tuesdays and Saturdays, be sure to make a reservation in advance, as, when I was last there for it, every table was filled by 7:00 PM. You start with the salad bar, and then they begin coming around the tables with huge hotel pans full of meat--and will serve you right at your table. If I recall, our first serving was sausage, ribs, pork, and chicken. Then came sirloin......then came tenderloin. By that time, I couldn't get another bite down, but as I was leaving, I could see them delivering bacon-wrapped chicken breasts. And for a side, french fries are served to the table. Definitely worth the price tag of $20.00.

When you make your reservation, ask for a table by the water overlooking the harbor. Very pretty and romantic :-) I always go for the filet

We last ate at Pantagonia February 2007 - great food. The difference between Casablanca and Pantagonia (my own point of view) is that Casablanca seems to be about quantity first - Pantagonia is more into quality. I am a "normal" human being - once I have eaten a 8 to 10 ounce steak - that's it! An opportunity to try South American grass fed beef.

I pretty surprised to hear that Patagonia and Casablanca have the same management. We were VERY unimpressed with the food at Casablanca and thought Patagonia was exceptional. Perhaps a change in chefs may be in order at Casablanca. We ate at both restaurants in December.

While the family that runs Patagonia (very nice folks BTW) did start at Casablanca, last I knew they had no current relationship with Casablanca.

they are not the same management! There is still a business tie but nothing to do with the day to day running.
