Don't know what night of the week the 12th is, but if Pasa Bon is open, that is definitely where you should go!

The Gas Station, Gas Express has a trailer that sells wicked seasoned beef sandwiches called Lomito. It is 9,00 naf for a huge one. He/she puts in along with the beef coleslaw, tomatoes, ham slice and potato chips. I always say no patata i no jamon (Ham and potatoes..ick to me)...Also they have tres leche cake which I am allowed once a month by a certain someone. Haaa

Al, I see you are coming in on a Tuesday, so Pasa Bon is out. I would suggest that maybe you ask the place where you are staying to have something there for you when you arrive. They can just add that to your bill. Some beer, bread and cheese would be good enough for me at that time of night. I try to grab something to last on my layover on the way down and take something sweet for later on after I arrive. Always have a neighbor get some drinks, soda/beer for me to have in the fridge till I get to the store the next day. If you arrive at 8pm, then just go from airport directly to a place and order take a way, have your partner stay with the truck to watch your luggage then go wherever you are staying and relax! You can even call ahead as soon as you land to give the order and have it ready for you while you pick up your truck and then go get it. Lots of options are there. I know you can order take a way from Ribs Factory and be all set to go on a Tuesday.

Al - Welcome to BT. I like your occupation. Did you get a degree in that?
|
By Kevin Wayne Williams (The Great Escape) (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #228) on Thursday, November 30, 2006 - 11:53 am: |
I think you have to settle for getting a degree in being an "International Man of Mystery" first, and then do independent studies.
|
By Mara Mara on the wall (Extraordinary BonaireTalker - Post #1426) on Thursday, November 30, 2006 - 11:57 am: |
Ohhhhhhhh - OK - but I'm not a man - can I get the degree in "International Woman of Mystery"? or do you think it is gender specific?

I forget the name, but the French restaurant near Pasa Bon was open late, and a lifesaver for us last year when our Bon Express flight took off from Aruba several hours late. Good luck. PS. That San Juan massage thread was a hoot. Really enjoyed it. Especially the Phila part. I'm formerly from PHL, now ATL. Enjoy.

Rumor has it that the Great Escape is now doing sandwiches/snacks late enough in to the evening to accommodate the AA flight. MODERATORS: Can Kevin post on this thread to answer some questions? Like...how late is he open, which days of the week, etc? I would like to get confirmation from him directly. (I know I could email him, but whenever I try emailing people with the bonairelive email address, it bounces back to me. )

Kevin told me today he is open til 10 PM serving beer and sandwiches. His email works good for me Jeanine.I will send it to you.

Donna and Giorgio's is the best. If they're open then that's were we'll go. We have not been in to see them since they moved.

Tribs: your e-mail gets through to us. AT&T has blocked access from bonairelive.com's servers, so we can't answer. I have to go through and edit my SMTP server settings to get through to AT&T customers, but most people don't know how to do that (or have a good alternate choice).

Hey all..it's Bistro De Paris as I'm sure Patrice, the owner would love for everyone to get the name of his delectable french cuisine restaurant correct! I actually keep his biz card and several others in my card file just so I can look at them to remind me how much I miss Bon!

Mercy, I stand corrected. In any event the rack of lamb at Bistro de Paris is great!

I don't kick people out at 10PM (usually), just ask that they arrive before then. If you are cutting it close, a phone call to let me know you are coming works wonders.
