I went through the archives and it looks like Margarita Mix is not readily available in the stores but that was a year ago. Can anyone confirm that is still the case? I don't mind bringing my own Tequilla but it's not worth hauling the mix as well.

I am surprised you have not brought out the militant army against the party on Bonaire. I mentioned jello shots and was put to task without even understanding of where I was going with the subject. Good luck my friend, there are still a few people that want to enjoy their personal passion while on VACATION!

I am with you Freddie, there is nothing wrong with driving. If you are like me and no longer drink, yet still enjoy a good party, be a Designated Driver.

For me a tropical vacation means Margaritas. From the responses here it looks like limes are avaialable, for some reason I was thinking that was not the case. But if I can get limes I am set.

I understand Chris. I was spoiled in the 70s and 80s by having a sister-in-law who was a native of Mexico. Have not had GOOD mexican since.

Hi, Chris! I can relate to your love of "real" mexican food and stuff....we are stuck in New Jersey but when we visit friends in San Diego County we go nuts with the "real" stuff and buy tons more and freeze it and lug it home in a collapsible cooler on the plane. We have been known to make the crew drool in envy while eating our own "real" Burritos instead of the airline meals!

Thanks Carole, I'm glad you understand the food! I was expecting a bunch of but you can get nacho's posts... I did research for a while in Mexico and I just love the place and the food. I get a kick out of mexican places in Europe, very expensive and while I have never eaten in one I have looked at the food and that is all it takes for me not to eat the food.

All margarita ingredients are here, from scratch or ready-made. You might just have to hunt a bit, and realize that most ready-made mixes are sold to bars, so that may make supplies low from time to time. After beer, it's the second most popular drink we sell at Mango's.

Ruth, Jello shots are not liquid. They are jello. They are made from a standard Jello mix BUT, instead of all water, vodka is added.

Oh, I know that--I was the one on the other thread telling him where to buy the little cups to make jello shots in if he didn't bring his own.... I was trying to explain why something like jello shots aren't a bar item here, no matter what shape & form they're in.

we go to a party every summer where jello shots are made from rum, vodka, and tequila. we color code them....green jello and tequila, orange and vodka, red and rum....seems to work. we have been able to buy margarita mix on the island our last two visits...never had a problem finding it but maybe i was just lucky.
