Do you guys already have a nice Thai joint?

As far as I know, there is no "pure" Thai restaurant on the island. However, Chez Lucille, located on Kaya Hellmund, in the southern part of the port, serves what they call a "blend of French and Thai cuisine". However, this is not a joint, but an upscale restaurant, where I had a remarquable dish of duck. In my opinion, one of the best restaurants of the island.

The island could definitely use a restaurant serving good, 'authentic' southeast Asian food. And Chinese and Japanese and Indian.

I agree with Michel, the food at Chez is great but my second time the service was the worst I have ever had in my life (aside from one nightmare in Antigua). The older man knew I was upset. For some reason the young waiter gave us our food and never came back. I had to beg for our check 4 times. We had no water refill, no wine and soda re fill and they made an error with our meal that we could not rectify.

We do "Japanese" on demand (24 hr notice required)-a sushi/sashimi/seared tuna dinner. (see pix on our website: www.mangosbonaire.com). But there just doesn't seem to be enough demand to warrant full-time Asian-only type cuisine. Yet. I think Kirk (Lion's Den) has/had a tandoori dish, Lucille for some Thai, Mango's for some Japanese--that's Bonaire!

For the sushi lovers, Buddy's holds a Japanese night at their restaurant once a month (I think on the third monday of the month). I tried it and the sushi is as good as anything I had elsewere. The only problem is the servings are a little on the small size.

The third Monday of the month this March is St. Paddy's day! Do you think they'll server the meal with green beer too?
