We left for Boniare on Feb. 28 at 4am wearing our zip off pants and Tevas with polartec socks. No problems on Air Jamaica and we arrived on time and with all our luggage. We did get a scare as our luggage was the very last off the plane.

Interesting that you did a dining trip report. I think the eating on Bonaire is about as good as the diving......it's just a matter of picking where ur gonna go that day....either to dive or to eat. Be interested in your take on Karen's dinner on the Oscarina...we did an overnight cruise with her in January and it was absolutely awesome, it's nice when ur baracuda slept in the ocean the same day you get to eat it. She also hooked me on funchi.

Bar hap is correct. It is a bar meal usually different each night. Less expensive then a regular meal served earlier in the evening because they only plan on making a certain number each night. You have to get there early to get the stampot at De Tuin - my favorite.

Corney: It seems that you and John are as fond of the Mona Lisa as "my" John and I are. We've been visiting Bonaire for years now and we dine at that wonderful restaurant often. What outstanding food...whether eating in the dining room or enjoying the bar hap. We were also delighted to receive the book "Eye on Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao" from Douwe and Hans. We will treasure this book and were both touched by their thoughtfulness. It seems we were both on island at about the same time. We arrived March 4 and departed March 20. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to Gibi's for dinner either Tuesday. Maybe next year. Carol

Carol, we will have to plan to meet next year. We should be there for a month starting March 5.
