Dear Friends, It took her about 20 days of swimming to reach her destination at the Serranilla Bank. In that time 'Funny', the female Hawksbill turtle, covered over 1600 km and on some days she swam at a rate of over a 100 km per day. Her current location places her within several hundred kilometers of both 'STINAPA' and 'Extra', two of the other sea turtles we tracked during the 2004 season, and some 350 km off the coast of Honduras. She is approximately 1330 km from Bonaire. 'Funny' was the last sea turtle to nest on Bonaire for the 2004 season and the last turtle we tracked this year. Unless her situation changes we will no longer be putting out regular updates on her status. If anything does happen, we will keep you posted. Thank you all for your continued interest and support.
