Good Morning Diver 67. Could this be more jellyfish?
|
By Diver_67 on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 6:47 am: |
visitors at the gate
|
By Jake Richter - NetTech on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 7:52 am: |
Not jellyfish - just lots of fishes - by their movement patterns on the video display here, I'd guess they were chromis.
|
By Okladiver on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 8:36 am: |
Thanks Jake.

By Leigh Ann on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 8:45 am: |
I saw that too. Clicked on it to enlarge it and the image updated! I was thinking UFO!

Good morning everyone... yes, Diver 67 another long day to stare at the cameras. The people I work with during the day can't quite understand our fascination with the webcams. Of course, none of them are divers.
|
By Okladiver on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 8:55 am: |
Good Morning Michael
|
By Virginia L. Stokes on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 8:59 am: |
Y'all are too quick for me! I almost never have time to take a peek at the webcam before going to work, but did this morning and the first thing up was the picture above posted by Okladiver. Oh well, I probably couldn't have found the saved pic on my home computer as easily as I do at work! Have a great day, all - gotta go.

Hey, I caught me a fish too!
|
By Okladiver on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 9:48 am: |
Too cool Diver 67 and Michael

By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 9:59 am: |
Good Morning all, let's play photo interpretation. Let's see; 8:32 dosal fin, 8:52 Stoplight Parrot, 9:28 Satchmo's tail.
|
By Diver_67 on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 11:34 am: |
Why haven't we had any Divers in the past few days, Did anyone else notice this?
|
By Okladiver on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 11:38 am: |
I caught 2
|
By Michael Gaunt on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 11:39 am: |
I've noticed we've had very little at all over the last few days. A couple fish sightings, but that's about it. I just figured I had missed them all. Now that you mention it, there have been few people at the front door as well.
|
By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 11:43 am: |
Diver 67, we had some yesterday, they didn't hang around. We might have some right now, this could be bubbles (or PP).
|
By Diver_67 on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 11:54 am: |
"pp" is my guess
|
By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 12:28 pm: |
PP it is, sometimes you see what you want to see (to many examples to list). There was also alot of small fish activity which typically precedes divers. How about a sunrise in Tahiti.
|
By Diver_67 on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 12:49 pm: |
I have a question outside of Bonaire. Has anyone done a dive in South Carolina. Or have any info about it. I am going to Hilton Head next month and I am wondering if I should take my gear with me
|
By Kerri Freeman on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 12:54 pm: |
Tahiti, you look beautiful with the dawn in your eyes. Cec, you're dawn beeyootiful too. Heavenly sunshine. G'morning 67, Mornin', Okla, Michael, and Virginia...

By Hazel Scharosch on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 1:27 pm: |
OKAY, Diver 67 - I wasn't going to get sucked into this animation thing, but yer drivin' me crazy. Where are you getting all those cool ocean animated graphics? I promise not to use too many of them if you'll tell me where :-) My students love them, and we can import them on other documents for class. Franks a rot!
|
By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 1:38 pm: |
Diver 67, I'd take the golf clubs instead. The diving is either sandy or wrecks. The water and fish are tropical, that'd be cool. You'll have to take a boat ride, an internet search should give some ideas of price and availability.

HI ya Kerri. HI Hazel

we finally got a diver
|
By Linda Richter - NetTech on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 2:23 pm: |
That appears to be it. There were actually three divers I could see but they barely stayed around long enough to get one captured.
|
By Diver_67 on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 2:23 pm: |
Hazel you can take all my animation just right click on "save as picture" and put it oin your smiley folder or which ever folder you so desire.
|
By Cynde Lee on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 2:27 pm: |
This looks like it may be residual bubbles from them...on the bottom right, in the big pic it almost looked like a diver very close to the bottom...Cecil...I need your expert opinion!
|
By Martin de Weger on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 2:30 pm: |
As there is a boat on the nord com, you might be righy (although I'm no Cecil _ ;-)))
|
By Martin de Weger on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 2:32 pm: |
Where Com is Cam of course... That English it not my best side.... Almost as good as my typing ;-))
|
By Denise L. Kacavas on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 2:59 pm: |
Diver 67 - you have the best animations! ! do you get them someplace or do you make them yourself?
|
By CiJai Kossman on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 3:22 pm: |
People! I wouldn't come home either!
|
By Cynde Lee on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 3:33 pm: |
Here they are choosing their signs...
|
By Diver_67 on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 3:35 pm: |
I take them from various diving web sites
|
By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 3:35 pm: |
Cynde, it's a diver but he's over the edge. Martin don't worry about your English it's better than my Dutch.
|
By Hazel Scharosch on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 3:37 pm: |
Yeah but Cecil, no one can beat your Navy-speak!

Cecil,
|
By Jake Richter - NetTech on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 3:44 pm: |
There have been dive boats here regularly this week, and we've certainly seen divers cruising by the ReefCam during those times, but I think it's safe to saw that the 2-3 dive boats a day we've been seeing may be dropping to 1 or 2 boats a day, as Bonaire has entered low season for tourism (April 15 - December 14).
|
By Cynde Lee on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 3:50 pm: |
Jake, I have been trying to figure out...why is this the low tourism season?
|
By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 4:03 pm: |
Martin, I appreciate the offer but I have a hard time with English/American. I figure in my declining years (as in declining on a loudge chair), I'll take a shot at Papiamentu so I can curse correctly during dominos (do you know that Papiamentu is not in my American Heritage Dictionary, I had to got to InfoBonaire to get the correct spelling).

Good afternoon everyone just wanted to say hi, I haven't had anything to post for a few days, wanted let you all know I was still around.
|
By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 4:29 pm: |
So Linda and Jake (you guys must be like Sherry/Barry), you're saying come during the summer for less crowds. No disco at the town pier on dive nights.
|
By Cynde Lee on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 4:39 pm: |
Thanks Jake. I thought maybe it was hurricane season or something like that (August on the Pacific coast in Baja Mexico is hurricane season...bad time to go diving there). Makes sense that the cold and snow would make ya wanna head south
|
By Jake Richter - NetTech on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 4:40 pm: |
Worse, Cecil. We sit about 8 feet from each other, but still communicate by e-mail quite a bit :-)
|
By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 7:12 pm: |
Two choices for sunset pictures.
|
By Cecil Berry on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 7:15 pm: |
On the previous, where's a sailboat when you need one? Is that Venus or the moon above the Klein?
|
By Leigh Ann on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 7:43 pm: |
Great sunset pictures Cecil.
|
By Hazel Scharosch on Thursday, April 26, 2001 - 12:34 am: |
I don't think it's the moon, Cecil. The moon is just a tiny sliver right now. I could be wrong tho - it's happened before ya know! You are indeed the sunset king.(visualize some graphic here - your choice)
|
By Dawn Pacheco on Thursday, April 26, 2001 - 9:26 am: |
Great pics Cecil...it's a hard decision but I think I'll have to go with the first one as my favorite. Thanks!
