Sorry, busy Friday I missed all the pig mentions so I hope you don't mind if I add mine. Hubby and I went to Club Med in Turks&Caicos for our first vacation in 7 years. We LOOKED like we hadn't vactioned in 7 years or seen the inside of a gym. So we get there suck down our complimentary drink and head off to our room passing all the "Twiggys" and the beach buff boy-O's on the way. All the rooms have cute little fish names on plaques outside. Know what our room's name was???? You guessed it "Pork Fish". No justice there, but we had a blast anyway.

Glad you had a good time. Did you like Turks & Caicos? Did you dive?

Turks & Caicos was a TOTAL blast. Check out Sharkies Bar on the beach, get there early so you can grab a hammock and swing and swig at the same time. You will know your there when you see the Christmas lights on the beach. The snorkeling was good. I personally didn't see any turtles but there are supposed to be alot around. The water was clear, warm and beautiful. The islands looked like pancake batter poured onto the ocean from the plane. I think the highest point on Provo is 45 feet above sea level. Take bug spray and don't miss Little Island Cay and the Iguanas there. From what I have seen of the pictures of Bonaire the diving is better at Bonaire but Turks is still a nice stop. Not too touristy yet. (hahah my spelling is atrocious)

Rusty, Ok, here's a good one. I went to visit Galudet in Wash. D.C. with a friend (college for the deaf) to pick up her cousin that went to school there. We go crusing up to her dorm room and I go knock---knock---knock and WAIT for a response. Anyone see anything WRONG with this picture. Of course my friend disolves into roll on the floor laughter and then explains that the little light switch beside the door, turns on and off a light inside so they know you are there. DUH, can't hear the knock. Ok you were 3 inches tall, I was about 21/2 and then had to squire this girl around DC all day. What fun! Karen

Hmmm...so we get to tell embarrassing stories, eh? Methinks this will be a long thread. :-) I've got one from about a year ago. (Apologies to you "old timer" BTers if you've heard this before.) My students and I were studying coral reefs in anticipation of our visit to Bonaire. I plugged in a brand-new coral reef video that I had not previewed. The narrator says the usual blah, blah, blah, and then he says, and I quote, "What's it all about? It's about SEX on the coral reef." Six pairs of eyes turned simultaneously toward me. You don't know how red I was when I said something about it's just like on the ranch when you put the bulls in with the cows or the rams in with the ewes. They just said, "Oh." NO BIG DEAL, just "Oh." A few minutes later I heard one wee little voice say, "We use artificial insemination." Whew, sometimes I am not sure who is teaching whom.

Turks & Caicos has a beautiful wall to dive starting at about 45fsw it is pristine. North West site off Provo is fantastic. We dove from Beaches, great family resort but not a dive resort. Great snorkeling right off 7-mile beach, lots of turtles but some coral damage. 78 Days till Bonaire!
