Me Again,

It looks to me like a Goshawk (sp) They are big in the chest and are overall large as hawks go.

Rusty... Don't you have a listing for raptors?

I think it's an immature Goshawk by the markings. The color and markings match, and the tail is a little to small for a Red Tail.
But... I'm just a old diver, what do I know?

My inclination is towards the Redtail - their field marks are the white throat and rusty-colored necklace. Young ones show bars on the underside of the tail, too.

Hi kevin, I don't think the Northern goshawk has a bib like Cecil's bird

Like I said.. I'm just an old diver! Love Raptors though. I visited the Snake River Raptor Center in Idaho back in 1999, it was awesome to see the size of those birds, Eagles mostly.

It's begining to look alot like it's a Red Tailed Hawk. I wanted it to be a Harrier, so much for my wants. Here's a web page of that bird, Link, here's another on all raptors Link

On September 11th - my husband and I were at Misquamacut in RI for our anniversary (oblivious to the NYC/DC attacks) and the marshes right off the beach had a harrier flying and a couple osprey nests. I don't see the harriers around here - western MA, tho we did have the first nesting pair of ospreys this year - first time in 70 years!

it was actually not only the goats but also the donkeys. one stood in front of my car on the way to andrea 1 and wouldn't move until i stuck my head out the window and yelled " get out of the way you jackass", then it moved. much like we do in houston.
i was in front of the street cam on 2-19-02 at about 1:30 pm local. i also went to the reef cam at 3:30appx on the 18th.
like i said "it is a beautiful thing."
