Did you see I used your NEWURL? I was so proud of myself - did it from memory...

As far as being risque, that is a requirement of my Navy training. On the other hand, if I had really followed my training every other work would start with a F.

Yes, I did catch that newurl, I so proud.

Well, it's 76 here, so it would've been hard to explain why I was chasing winter away with Hoodie-Hoo's. It's ok Chris, I said one for you.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Cindy Reed on Wednesday, February 20, 2002 - 1:21 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Chris, here's Rusty's explanation from earlier today

"What's Hoodie Hoo Day, you ask?: On February 20, at high noon (local time) people are asked to go outdoors and yell "Hoodie-Hoo!" to chase winter away. It's time to make ready for spring, which is only a month away. Have Fun"

Chris, when I was a kid I ALWAYS wanted to swim in the Dead Sea or Great Salt Lake - I thought it would be wonderful to just FLOAT - look ma, no hands. Someone recently told me that they are both GROSS. I'm SO disappointed.

Bon voyage!

Thanks - I think your Hoodie Hoos must have worked as it briefly snowed (middle of the UK) for about 2 minutes and now we have clear skies and no snow. Here's to spring

Hi Josie and Alan, looking good!

Cecil, I love the little clue to our oldtimerhood habits. You called the posted pix FD1 and FD2 for Front Door, which was the original name of the StreetCam... :-)

Rusty, love the numerology. Gotta say that one more time we'll have the thrill: Winter Solstice at 9:12pm in the the year 2112 it will be 21:12, 21/12, 2112! THEN, it will never happen again!

Hi, This is Josie. Alan left this morning, but Bill's still here.

His sign says: Bill Smith
Available ladies

He's single, a real nice guy and comes with a recommendation from me (only as a friend, you understand!!!) He's on Bonaire until 2/27 and is planning to do his OW course (did the Resort Course last week, and decided he likes it!!)

Thanks for your HOOODIE HOOs, I took a walk a lunch today around my neighborhood pond and I saw about a dozen Robins! Certainly a good sign that spring is coming. Just hope that we get some rain soon, we were supposed to get some today, but so far nothing.

hoo

Wish I could spend a week on Bonaire, that would improve my attitude until spring really does arrive!

Rusty-

I had the opportunity to float in the Dead Sea two years ago, and I certainly wouldn't characterize it as gross. It was actually great fun floating atop the water, with only a bit of the backside submerged. Granted you don't want to get any water in you eyes or in any boo-boos, thus splashing around isn't recommended, and you really need a shower when you get out, but I'm glad we made that sidetrip. I walked in, and at one point my feet no longer touched the bottom, but I was still above the water from just below my chest! Nothing neutral about THAT buoyancy. Spent much time giggling.

I also had the opportunity to talk to a man who had done some commercial diving in the Dead Sea, cleaning the residue off the bottoms of some of the boats and barges that ply those waters - he had to invest heavily in weights to just stay submerged, and could barely carry (on land) the amount needed to succesfully dive the Dead Sea.

But now back to Bonaire...

Something funny going on at my ISP - all of a sudden I can't get to the Cams or the Talk board. Happened twice this week, already. Other sites work fine. Maybe my ISP is starting to lose money on my connection. LOL

Was about to post this when it went dead.

Snork - excellent Hoodie Hoo - gonna save them for next year! Glad you're out walking around - doc tomorrow?

Niki - I hope I get to see that one, too!

Anita - Maybe my source isn't into saltwater like the rest of us. They said that it felt slimy and burned your skin. I'm glad you went and did it - I'm putting it back on my list of things I want to do someday... It sounds like a LOT of fun!

Thanks Rusty. Yes walking is going better, just as long as I don’t use my right arm (argh…). Off to the doc tomorrow.
