Well that didn't work - back to the drawing board - if anyone can walk me through I'd appreciate it - I thought I followed the directions - guess not.

Gail, you need to put your file name in the squiggly parens...{...} and don't put a space after the image. "backslash"image{filename}...try that:)

Let's try - just for practice. I'll apologise ahead of time if this doesn't work.

The funny thing is we can't type exactly what you should type or it substitutes an image! So we keep describing it as closely as we can, in various ways. And I expect we'll keep doing so... :-)

Actually I found out this formatting by accident one time using two \ back slashes sort of created a comment where the format code was visible and not executed. So you can see the format for adding an image below.

I also put the image display procedure on the home page since there were so many requests.

A-A-Ah! Undocumented feature! (To us, that is) Thanks again, Linda, 'cause I kept wondering how you demonstrated that before... and on the various instruction pages. Not to worry, I don't want to be a web-based newsgroup moderator on the side. I just always want to understand the inner workings. I'm the same way with the plumber or the electrician. Asking how everything works! I sit and watch This Old House, for example... Anyway now I can type without explanation whenever it gets asked:

How do I get the whole paragraph to come out green? Or change line to line. Oh Thank you. Thank you. There is someone home in the attic. He was just resting!

Kerri,

Please tell me the difference between the
04:26 and 04:32 posts that had the first with
short 'add-a-message' box width text lines (as
mine always come out) and full page width
lines.

Or perhaps Linda can tell me how to set
things so the text unwraps when posted.

Glen:Checked my files to be sure. I prefer the shorter lines,as you have them. Easier to read quickly.Only thing I know is the first message failed to go thru..highlighted as 'formatting' error. No formatting code 'colour' In the end, it made me resubmit 3 times, and the first post went thru on that 3rd version with no formatting code (another version I tried that wasn't recognized as error,or code) I think each time, the text was re-aligned. The 2nd message(longline) was correctly coded, therefore not so much re-aligned,like normal stuff. Gosh, maybe now I'll figure out what code word "ginger" is. You live around Kamen,(sp)I think. Do you have a guess?

Glen,
I still haven't figured out your problem. My messages just come out wrapped. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Testing Testing

The only time I get short sentences is when I
hit the enter key as I'm getting to the edge of
the text window like this paragraph.

Copy and paste this text from a word processor to see how it formats. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Testing Testing
