When in Bonaire, if you dive the salt pier enjoy a moment for me - it is one of my very favorite dives there.

I plan on hitting every beach site I can. We have a truck for our stay and the Salt Pier is on the list. I understand you need permission if there are any ships there. I promise to think of you and all my fellow BWCers

Have a great day Denise... and all my fellow camers. I'll check back later. Hopefully divers will show up.

Hi Kevin,

I think you need permission for this dive regardless of a ship being there. With a ship at the pier I would not dive there. However I never got permission to dive there... no ships in sight..should be OK for the next hour. Besides I never actually went in at salt pier but sofar always at the south buoy and drift to the buoy at the north end.

Morning All. Kevin and Rusty I notice that when you use the LARGE link on the bottom of the street cam it doesn't go to the beach cam, but by now I guess you figured that out... Old habits die hard!!!!

Fixed that large StreetCam problem (although, hint hint, as a member, even Basic, you would have a menu under each live image prompting for large, medium, and small sizes - those work too :-) )

hi Kevin, and ofcourse all other bwcammers.
On thursdays Kevin, there will be a dive bus at the salt pier, if they are there they will have a permit for diving under the salt pier.
if they are not there or you wish to dive any other day then you can just ask your diveshop to check for you.And if that all fails you call me and then I will see what I can do for you.
He heck I might even go with you to enjoy the dive.call me when your on island, we make a few shoredives together.717-4554

Rusty,

A few differences in Basic Member vs. non-member. As a Basic member:

- You get a menu of size options under each live or archive image - this eliminates the occasional problem of clicking on the image itself only to find that the enlargement you're looking for went away because the images changed after the initial smaller viewing but before you clicked to get the larger images.

- You get access to the last hour's worth of image archives so you can catch up on anything you may have missed.

- It gets rid of the "Become a Member" prompts at the top and bottom of every page.

Still free, but requires registration and that you log in.

Try it out and let me know what you think.

Jake

Jake:

The archive is wicked nice!

I love the SMALL window size - great for leaving some desktop to WORK on while we keep an eye on the cams - LOL. Keeps stealing other browser windows to open, tho.

Is there a WORKS window with four small images in the *works*?

Rusty,

Try this page: http://my.bonairewebcams.com/BonaireWebCams.php

We have plans for customizable view pages (you'd specify the refresh time if you want slower than every 2 minutes, also size and relative position of images on the page), and gallery pages (create a gallery of your favorite WebCam images). However, not sure when we'll get to those - maybe summer time.

Jake

Oh - I forgot to include another disclaimer - those features we're hoping to develop later this year would be for paying members only (that's probably obvious, but just in case... :-) )

Jake

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Rusty Clark on Sunday, February 3, 2002 - 2:11 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Thanks, Jake - but you need to leave it nearly as large as the WORKS page since the whole page refreshes not just the cams. If I squish the window with the scroll bars to a small window showing only the four small cam pix - they disappear when it refreshes. Don't you just hate beta-testers? LOL (I can wait for the summer options.)

When I hit Small or Large - it steals my Bonaire Talk window - unless I rt-clk and choose open in a new window.

Rusty,

Ack on the refresh issues of the 4 small - that's why the custom page is in the plans.

Re: Window stealing. It would steal your BonaireTalk window only if you opened BonaireTalk in a window BWC opened as an auxilliary window (the browser thinks the BWC pages "own" that window).

Glad you guys like the ePostCards!

Jake, Aha! Window stealing - I could never figger out why Bonaire Talk would sometimes spawn a window and sometimes steal a window. Despite using The Works as my homepage - it only steals spawned windows. Gotcha! Congrats on a very smooth major upgrade to the site. Almost unheard of!

Thanks - there have been a few minor glitches which I've been dealing with as the weekend has progressed. The only major problem was that folks using Netscape Navigator couldn't register or use most of the forms. Got that one licked this morning :-)
