Dear Bonairewebcammers,
My name is Marc Brouwers, and you probably know me from some very recent pictures.
Remember the guy with “nice buoyancy”, taking a nap waiting for the time to pass by(Cynde Lee, January 17, It takes a village), or “hoi Mari” a Message to my wife!(Kevin Mac, January 23), or “ “hallo”, even with ” Dixie divers” holding up signs, (Glenn Fager January 23). Even the “ cleaning guy”, and sorry no I don’t do windows, I did that just as returned service to Jake for using his private mooring, I cleaned the web cam of some algae!

So as you can see a frequent visitor to the web cam, and a fan off checking it out on the computer.And since today an even more recent picture, it all started a while ago, when we visited the web cam with a group of divers, during the dive somebody tried to moon the cam, it didn’t work out! (lucky for him) we joked about it later, that it didn’t work; I told the group that when they would be well at home I’d have a surprise for them?!
Well and so it happend today, I mooned the web cam! Just to have fun with them.
Not thinking some people could be offended by it, I’m a decent person, and have been living on this island for 6 years, I would not try and provoke people to act against me in a bad way, I still think it is funny, but also understand that other people might be offended, I do agree with Bill and Cheryl Rathbone, January 30
It depends on yourself how upset you are going to be!
I did not like someone else give “The” finger to the cam.
That is very rude, every body has different thoughts and opinions.
I just wanted to share that with you all, so you know my side of the story.
As for a lot of the comments, I can laugh about them.
Especially where “Rusty Clark Says” “just think how many blurry and off-center shots we see on the cams and this guy hits it dead center-facing the other way!
That just cracks me up hahaha.
I should be good, as I practice and demand from my divers good bouyancy control and respect for the reefs.
Folks, last thing I will say about is SORRY for the people who were offended.
For the people who found it comical GREAT.
And to my friends who I promised I would surprise them, well, here I’ am.
Last but not least, I hope that you will see me many more times in GOOD and Decent pictures, and when you are on Bonaire I hope we can make a dive on the web cam together, with wetsuits on.

Personally I was not offended (the girls at my office loved it!)but, I can understand and respect others that may have been.

Good morning Kay & Meril, the crazy part of it all is that I didnt hang there for the full 2 minutes, I guess I was there for 30/40 seconds.And then I went on.
So I guess I was lucky, not enough time for Charlotte to do some serieus cleaning though!

Marc - Just to let you know, I was not offended by your little stunt. In fact, I had a very good chuckle over it. But, I can understand those that might have been found it in poor taste. It takes a big person to apologize. You have my respect (and vote for best "pic-of-the-month"!)

No offense taken here either. I just kept thinking "you couldn't do that wearing a dive skin!" Thanks for the laughs- you inspired us use all the bad puns we could think of. It made for lively conversation all day.

I regret I missed it..SHOOT..it must have livened up the day for all. It is interesting how many women did not object. LOL. Oh well, its one of those things many think of but don't do..some are more impulsive and some have stronger boundaries with their actions..(on Annie the counselor, go away)..anyway, the apology is well said so do not dwell, let it go..

Rusty, thanks..I love the picture..totally cool in my book..spiced up the web cam and darn it was sooo clear..Is that a Speedo?? ICK..LOL...

Cecil, no snow here on Cape Cod..we had 60 degree weather..no, I am here to rest truly with my little one. We got the colds from her God Mom who visited over the weekend..no thanks to her. I prefer to use my sick days for those balmy windy days when I need a good mental health sail.

I wouldn't have posted the capture if I had thought it was truly offensive. Juvenile behavior, perhaps, but, at my age, too many things seem juvenile. It's my understanding from comments of long time cammers that this, also, was not a first. So, as soon as Andy gets a chance to weigh in with a comment on American prudery, I'm ready to move on.

PS: I'm surprised that you, as a six-year resident of Bonaire, braved the frigid winter waters in only a Speedo to pull that stunt off.

Marc, your uw apolgy and your apolgy/explanation here both reflect very well on you. I was not at all offended, laughed out loud, and as you saw by all the attention it got on the thread, it made for an interesting day :-) If that were my son who had posed for the camera like that I would have acted like a good mother and lectured him, (while laughing). But I would then have been proud if he apologized as you did. Good job!

Marc, no offence here...as i quickly emailed it to all my girlfriends on the west coast including my female office mates and you "made their day", so you are famous here as well! It definetly livened up the day, and as i said before, the best one i have seen on the cam since i've been watching (the others were like the gent that "couldn't" make it happen in your group.")And that you have addressed those that may have been offended...your mom should be proud! Gotta say, so there is no confusion, Marc was NOT the one to give the finger later in the afternoon...

Marc, thanks for the apology. There is (probably) not a one of us here who has not done something sophomoric, including myself. I mooned my sister once. She was riding a bicycle. Shocked her so much she crashed. Had to take her to the emergency room for stitches, and the bike's wheel was permanently bent. Sad thing was, it was my bike!! Even sadder - I never apologized. So... sorry for being so thin-skinned, and sorry sis!

Jeez!! I just hate it when I miss all of the excitement. I've actually been working and have missed much of the "stuff" happening on the cams. I went back looking for the source of this apology...but didn't have time to search much. I ventured into "Beautiful Moon Tues 1/29" thinking that might be appropriate,,,but alas, no go.

John, Thanks for the directions...I seem to miss all of the fun postings. Great pic of "backside of baby's tummy"!
I doubt that all the apologies are necessary, however, if it was my backside I would have worked on the tan line before exposing.
