Giving updates is going to be virtually impossible. Most people are shutting down all power to avoid damage from lightning. The Airport has been officially closed and is without power for the next 24 hours. We are going to shut power down soon too, at least on the computers. From the latest pictures, it looks like the eye has indeed started to move more north, away from a direct path for Bonaire. The latest projections have it heading for Florida by Monday.

Now where is my umbrella...

Keep an eye on the wind direction too - note that early this morning it was coming from due East (pretty normal), but since about 8 am has been moving gradually to coming from the northeast, then north, and now west northwest.

Wind speed is still pretty low, fortunately.

HiYa Guys
As a frequent visitor to Bonaire (Sorobon) over the past 3 years (usually 3 times a year) I find part of me still remains there when I leave. I left Bonaire a week ago. I notice the barometric pressures are dropping - indicating that Eric is nearing. My thoughts & best wishes go out to the people of Bonaire. I am watching EVERY cam change.

Just returned from my local hostelry. I reckon that I was absconded by aliens who then forced me to quaff several of the local beers on offer there. That's my theory anyway, although I have to confess that I'm struggling to get the idea past Marcia.
Cynde, I'm not sure I get your drift .. are you trying to tell me that you want me to buy you a headset?
I'm fine Martin. OK, so I exaggerate.. I'm not too bad. How's yourself? The marriage thrives? The hair follicle therapy was successful?
Meryl, you tease .. you really expect me to believe that you were thinking of me after all this time?
I found myself here after checking out Ivan's damage to Grenada (where I spent a couple of pleasant weeks earlier this year). It made depressing reading. Seious destruction & the loss of several lives. It seemed a logical progression to look at the BT pages as Bonaire looked to be further along Ivans path. It looks like "he's" going to pass by without too much interference. Here's hoping, anyway.

FP....wow, glad you aren't still down there in the tunnel...could be nasty about right now...definitely would need a few tanks to survive this if you were still in there.

Nice to hear from you! I think Marcia should understand the "need" to quaff several of the local beers being offered! After all, an encounter with aliens builds up quite a thirst that must be quenched...and quenched well...over and over again. Sorry to hear about the destruction on Grenada. Hopefully Bonaire will fair much better. Lots of water on the cams, tho....wonder how the donkeys are making out at the sanctuary?? (no, not with their lips, you silly person! LOL). Hope they aren't being tossed around and that Marina's new home is still standing when it's all over...she's worked so hard....

Don't be such a stranger, Senior Fancy Pants! Man, could you just see those drawers flapping the breeze on Bonaire, today>?!!! LOL. Carole
