glenn, when we never noticed a thermocline (not like we have in colder water)...water was 82-85 degrees for the most part. i wore a full 3 mil, and my husband wore shorts...in mexico with the same water temp we experienced thermoclines of a good 10 degrees at 60-70 feet, and of course locally we defenitely have them...just my 2 cents worth
