By Tom Bartikoski on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 9:11 am: |
I hope you will be able to see the three-mast wooden sailing ship "Old AmsterdaM" that should be sailing into cam view from the south. Quite impressive.

By Freddie Hughes on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 9:44 am: |
too bad the three masted schooner didn't come closer... it might have been and award winning photo!!!!!
By Tom Bartikoski on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 9:48 am: |
Freddie -- Haven't been on the site in several months. Can you remind me of the photo posting "code"... I'll put up the only glimpse of it that appeared. It's not award winning... but even at a distance you can get an impression of the size. Thanks
By Tom Bartikoski on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 9:53 am: |
Here is the only view of the schooner that appeared... as it sailed off toward Klein Bonaire and out of cam view.

By Freddie Hughes on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 9:55 am: |
i guess you did it faster than i could type..
By John Lidington on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 9:55 am: |
Sorry. Couldn't catch the divers for even a triple. Saw them coming on SouthCam, and going on NorthCam, but was involved in work for the one capture that they appeared in on ReefCam. I think we need to start lobbying the Bonaire dive operators to constantly remind the divers they take out that posing for the camera for our entertainment is much more important than just swimming around looking at fish and coral.

Hi Michael, do you think Jake will bring out Coffee and Cake for these people??
By Tom Bartikoski on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 10:12 am: |
Yes, Rusty... that's it on the horizon, left of center.
By Freddie Hughes on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 10:14 am: |
Rusty do think that the Tom on the sign is the infamous Tom of Tom and Corrine??
By Rusty Clark on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 10:19 am: |
Oooh - the plot thickens! There can only be one Tom, right? There's only one Jake. Seems fair to me. Wait til Darlene finds out.
By Freddie Hughes on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 10:21 am: |
What's this??
By Tom Bartikoski on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 10:30 am: |
Freddie -- I'm going out on a limb and saying "porcupine puffer fish", due to the very non-hydrodynamic body shape and small pec fins.
By Freddie Hughes on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 10:33 am: |
Tom have you finished your divemaster stuff yet??
By Tom Bartikoski on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 10:37 am: |
Can't really see it on the cam... just barely on North Cam... but the schooner is coming around and sailing right at Jake and Linda's. Hope it will provide a better view this time... in a few more minutes.
By Freddie Hughes on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 10:40 am: |

Hi Tom,
By Freddie Hughes on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 11:55 am: |
Thanks for the tour Linda. I wonder if this was one of the tallships that sailed into New York Harbor for the millenium celebration. If it was I may have seen it go by our coastline here on Long Island, NY
By Freddie Hughes on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 12:09 pm: |
Time to go on to Rusty's new thread people! this one is really LONG!!!!
By Cynde Lee on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 1:40 pm: |
tom, moving to bonaire and now just surfacing??? i am jealous. here in dana point we have a tall ship that is a resident. they take it on trips to catalina island, and there are a few more in the area harbors and they have a tall ship festival every fall in dana point...pirates and all...very fun. on our local one they have a program with the local school dist. when my stepdaughter was in 4rth grade they got to spend the night on it, had to learn the "lingo" of the old days and eat porrage, swab decks, suck on raw onions if they were bad! a great memory for her. we had to write her letters like it was back then, and then they passed them out to the kids like they would have back then...
