I like that idea picture of the year. Maybe different catagories, diver's (with or without pants), fish, signs, whatever. I've seen some great pic's in the last year. It would be fun to surf back through the old records.

If you guys want to start a couple of picture of the year threads, be our guests! Maybe I can even program up some sort of on-line polling system once the favorites have been posted.

BTW, Linda's probably going to go clean the ReefCam later today, so don't despair!

When you're underwater facing the webcam, does it give some indication it has taken a picture, like a light going off, or do people sit in front of it for at least two minutes to ensure they get their picture taken?

Jake tells me that a fish report was requested. Let's see what I can remember.

Almost sat on a orangespotted filefish when I was putting on my fins. I went looking for the 1.5 foot scorpion fish that I'd seen the other day but no luck. Or really lots of luck, since I was going to encourage him to vacate the area so the kids could go swimming.

Here is the quicklist:
Redlip Blenny
Hairy Blenny
Bicolor Damselfish
yellow Goatfish
Yellowfin Mojarra
Golden tail moray
Spotted moray
Yellowtail damselfish
Baby - yellowtail, longfin and threespot damselfish
Graysby - very big
Tiger grouper
Yellowtail snapper
Smoothed and spotted trunkfish
Spotted drum adult
fairy basslets
sharpnose puffer
porcupinefish
Midnight parrotfish (big)
queens and stoplight parrotfish - baby and adult
Spanish hogfish
Green Razorfish
coney
yellowheaded wrasse
clown wrasse
blueheaded wrasse
trumpetfish (blue colored)
Creole wrasse (school - migrating north along the reef wall)
Blue and brown chromis
Foureyed and banded butterflyfish
Rock beauty
Lantern Bass
Harlquin Bass
Redspotted hawkfish
Butter Hamlet
Dusky Squirrelfish
Barred Soldierfish
Barred Cardinalfish
Queen Angelfish
School of Blue Tangs and Docterfish
French Grunt
Schoolmaster
Yellowfin grouper
Rockhind
Lizardfish
masked goby
bridled goby

That's about it. I wasn't really paying attention to the blennies and gobies.

Also lots of beautiful Diadema sea urchins.

And last weekend, in the swim area I saw a small octopus and a Chain Moray.

oh, linda thank you, but REALLY, is that ALL you saw?? just kidding...i have been thinking about checking the aj availibility from lax to bon lately, you just gave me the last push :)...i could see everyone of them in my mind....(smile)...was jo (the coney) still hanging below the cam housing? was charlotte there??

Charlotte was there but my coney cleaning brigade were missing. I think it was the time of day. They usually appear in the morning. I don't often hit the cam this late in the day.

Cynde Lee, I was there in September with friends and now I am going with my husband for 11 days this time!! I got a great deal when I booked the September trip so I booked the January trip at the same time! My knee is still coming along. I walk pretty decent but I still have a lot of limatations. Recovering from a broken knee sure takes a lot longer than I ever expected but my therapist guarantees me that I will be golden in the water and ofcourse you all know that is where I spend most of my time! Can't wait to get there and thanks for asking about the knee!!
Happy New Year to all!
