Our party of four, two divers and two snorkelers, will be arriving in Bonaire in early February. What would be the best vehicle suited to our group and the best company to rent from?? Thanks

Probably a toyota Hilux or the equivalent would be your best bet. If you get onto the Bonaire web site there are lots of car hire firms. You need to do a bit of comparing, there are some good special offers. We use Nettys and were happy with the service and the price.

Julia, We are staying at the Plaza Bonaire. I understand they have rental cars on their property. I have read about the CDW, etc. What is the best thing to do in this regard? I have heard that Netty's is a good place to do business. Anything else you think we should know about, this is our first visit to Bonaire. Thanks,

We enjoy renting the carry-all van from Netty for 4 people and all the gear it is perfect..and fun to drive as we cannot have them in the states..lift the hatch and a perfect place to sit on and gear up..have fun and safe drivng and diving

Cindy, We also rented from Netty's and had no complaints. As far as the CDW, opinions vary. Contact your credit car company and see what they cover and where. Mine covered me on the island so we did not use the CDW. Most credit card companies will not cover pickups.

We tried Netty's and unfortunately she was booked for the week we needed. She really sounded great and if we return to Bonaire, I will be sure to try her earlier. If you purchase the CDW are you covered for anything that comes up? As you probably figured out, I haven't rented vehicles out of the country before.
