Hi! I'm new to BT, although some folks may recognize me from another dive board. I'm headed to Bonaire Feb 19-26 and Poppy is sold out. (I'm bummed after reading so many good reviews here!) So far I've seen mixed review on other agencies, but nothing bad about Budget. Has anyone had issues with them lately?

I tried Poppy for those same dates - she was sold out - and I'm going with Budget. I'm also traveling the same dates as you are on the Delta flights ! Good luck!

Hey we had the same problem,too late to book with Poppy....we had to pay a price through AB but atleast we have a truck!!! Where you traveling from?? We are from NY and will be on the red-eye from Newark the same dates!!

welcome to BT. you had me scared for a second...i thought you said poppy sold her business to budget. whew!!!!! glad that's not the case....we would have had some very upset friends (right, marge?) if she wasn't in business anymore.

Well, hello there KTB! We use Budget for each trip and have had zero problems. PM me if you want any more info. LOL.

We have had good luck with Patrick at Caribe Rental.

At least 7 rentals from Budget over the past 12-13 years without a problem. Unless you request something different, you will likely get a Toyota Hilux pickup with stick shift & air conditioning. Enjoy !!

I've rented for Everts for about a decade --- always gracious service, and NEVER a problem...

You have that right Pat. Luckily we booked Poppy in May for Feb 19-March 5. WHew. How many days? 73 but who's counting.

A bonus of renting with Budget is that you can coordinate it through Michael Gaynor at Chat n Browse. He makes sure everything goes smoothly. It makes a big difference to have someone on the island deal with any of the local businesses on your behalf. They know who to speak to and more importantly know how things are done here (which can be quite different from back home).

A/C is great, but Poppy always makes sure that we get Power Steering as well! This old guy needs P/S in the tight parking spots!!!
