)We arrived in Bonaire last week at 10 PM and were driven to the Black Durgon by Taxi #8, Victor Ruiz. The inn was dark, locked, and said "closed." Victor spent well over an hour driving us around, trying to find the owner at his home, and eventually finding us lodging at Cap'n Don's. He said he could not leave us (two women over 50). He was incredibly kind and solicitous. Give him a call at (599) 785-0444!

Debbie, how nice! And nice of you to share. We have often found that the people who live on Bonaire truelly go out of their way to help when needed.

What happened with the Black Durgon situation?

Sparty: re: Black Durgon. We called the next day and spoke with Al's daughter-in-law who said she didn't understand what happened. After two days we drove out to Black Durgon, where Al explained that a maid had gotten the days mixed up and neglected to leave a key and note. He did return our deposit. I must say that late at night with no lights the place looked pretty creepy, even the water side, but it looked a lot better in daylight. But at that point we had no desire to move.
