Been to bonaire twice, 1st time with 4 divers and 2nd time with 5 divers. This time there will be 6 of us and I was wondering what is the best vehicle for this. Both times before we rented the crew cab pick up truck and it was perfect, but with 6 of us do you think you could have 2 people up front, 3 in the back, and 1 in the bed with all of the dive gear--will that work? Or does anyone know of a better vehicle--we are really trying to avoid renting 2 vehicles. Thanks guys!

How about one of the small vans that most of the vechicle rental places have, they are 6 passenger and have plenty of room for gear.

You are going to need two trucks. It's cheaper than the bus. The mini vans are small unless you are small adults IMHO.

We have rented the bigger Toyata vans which list as 9-12 passengers. Some of the seats fold up or are removed so there was seats for 6 and gear room. When we went in 6/06 we were told they were less available perhaps discontinued. We thought we saw some but... This year we got a chrysler minivan which worked for 6 but gear was tight. The airport run was also full but lets say the drive to Belmar was tolerable. (We always note that hotel to airport in Bonaire is less than terminal to remote parking at BWI)

We had five divers on our July trip and we found two four door pick up trucks was JUST the ticket. We could split up if we wanted and it was much roomier as I just couldn't see cramming US in the four doors much less ALL that gear and tanks in the truck bed.

A van just wouldn't be able to haul six people and gear comfortably; IMHO.

I would get 2 vehicles - it would take a rather large vehicle to get 6 people plus luggage to and from the airport.

Additionaly 2 vehicles gives you more flexibility.
