Hi all,

I am going to Bonaire in two weeks for two weeks, basically for the only purpose to snorkel and relax.
I was thinking of renting a scooter or a moped, however I would like to know if snorkel sites such as Andrea I,II, 1000 steps, Oil Slick Leap, etc. are easily accessible with a moped/scooter.

Thanks for answers. This site is excellent and has plenty of information.

Triggerfish, The roads on Bonaire are in good shape(out of town). You won't have any problems at all with a scooter...

Hi Triggerfish and welcome to BT! :-) You should be fine with a moped/scooter. Make sure you have a lock and chain for it wherever you park it. Won't do if you want to go through the National Park, but you could rent a truck for day if you want to go there. Have a great time. Being solo, it's a great way to get around!

Ron, Debbie

Thanks for your answers. On Google Earth, it looked like dirt tracks (but even dry dirt tracks are OK with a scooter), but I think I might have to get some glasses :-)
I might rent a bike for the national park, I think it is allowed.

I am so looking forward to being there, I really miss my fishes.

Yes, you can ride a bicycle through the park, but I would not recommend that. Way to much work to get from A to B. You can rent a truck for a little more than the price of a bicycle. Just my 2 cents. I would hate to get lots of flat tires too way out there with all that cacti.

It takes 4 hours by truck in the park! I would guess it would take you 6 to 8 hours by bike and it will take you 2 hours to get to the park and they close at 5pm. Just not enough time in one day. Pop for a truck and have a good time. Bring lots of water...
