I am considering bringing the engagement ring to Bonaire and asking the big question while there. Of all the places on the island, where would be the best place to do this? TIA.

If you are both avid divers, my choice would be on a dive. Otherwise how about on the pier at Richard's.

I am an avid diver; she will be (hopefully) completeing her training on this trip. Although it sounds like a really neat idea, I am not sure I could pull it off successfully. I will certainly give that idea some thought however.

Neither of us have ever been to Bonaire, so I am not sure what Richard's is or where it is at. It sounds kind of public, however :-) I was thinking something more private.

Pink Beach at night when the moon and stars are out ... you will have it all to yourself.

Rum Runners at Capn Don's Habitat has some seating down the stairs next to the sea that they use for special occasions and special meals. We had them do a special meal for my 50th birthday last year, their food is very good. Floris can be contacted via rumrunners@habitatbonaire.com

I'll give my vote to a snorkel/dive picnic on Klien. Boat takes you, drops you off...and then there's just the two of you.

For alone time... I would say Pink Beach, also. You can find relatively sandy spots to sit and it's quiet and private. Good luck!!

For more public, yes Richards would be great. It is a restaurant south of town. You could reserve the table at the end of the pier for dinner and it is VERY romantic. My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary there last October and Richard made it perfect.

Seru Largu at sunset time or evening with the bright stars overhead gets my vote!! There is a statue and viewing area that overlooks the island, ocean and Kline! It is a breathtaking view!

Pink Beach to star gaze is a favorite of ours.
Love to catch a falling star and make a wish !
I have heard Seru Largu is awasome too.

Go about halfway through the park; if she says 'no' it will be the longest two hours of her life to get back, if she says 'yes' it will be the shortest. :-)

Seru Largu would be great at night, but it is not the easiest area to negotiate in the darkness. On a clear day it would be just as memorable, at sunset.

When we go down we take a simple look at the moon chart on the internet to figure out the full moon, which is the prettiest time in our opinion.

carl, that last 7km out of the park can be the longest 7km in your life regardless of what you've done there before.

I second boca kokolishi; one of my favorite spots on Bonaire, and we have rarely had to share it with another human being. But there is the issue of the ride out (and in).

Boca Cocolishi is on the short route into the park. If you exit after 3pm, you can actually follow your same path in - only going the opposite direction - without having to adhere to the one-way all the way around the park as you would normally. This is because after 3pm no one is allowed into the park as there is no time to navigate it and be out by 5pm when the gates close :-)

David, hope this helps ya'll enjoy it more often from now on :-)

Have fun,
Annette

Seru Largu is the best place on the Island for that.

You could always do the "I will be forever your slave..." at the slave huts... Cute picture opportunity...
Pink Beach with an ahead of time placed conch shell with ring? (making sure someone is watching it?)

Please do not let us know when or where this is going to happen. If you do then any hint will lead to a buying up of all the tissues on the island and a wind shift as we all go AAAAHHHH! Too many of us love a happy ending so we may need to participate from a distance :-)

A dinner at Seroe Largo would be great! I wonder if someone (maybe Annette R) would be able to arrange to cater it. Champagne, candle light... But the drive down after a little champagne would be interesting... Maybe a chauffeur.

I'm starting to thinks about sites for 25th anniversary (in 2 years). Maybe I'll do Seroe Largo too!!

personally, I think the most romantic place on the island is anywhere my husband and I are at the time. You've got to make your romance, and Bonaire has many beautiful places to carry it out.
Oh, it's so good to be in love after years of marriage.
Well, I'll leave now, I'm sure you're all blushing, lol.

If she likes oysters, maybe Richard could set you up on the dock and personnally serve her an oyster with the ring carefully set on the opened shell.
