Is there not even one lone bus that transects the island? Seems like this would be an excellent idea for tourism. But then the carrental places might boycot that idea yes?!

Also, where can we get a good city map showing all the restaurants/resorts/dive shops etc? We need to order one sent now so we can study. Thanks

Rebecca, this is a good Map of Bonaire. Not sure if you can order it online. You can get it on island. The island is pretty small so I wouldn't stress over getting to know everything in detail before you go. You'll be surprised how small it is

Rebecca, I agree with Cynde... it is very small and frankly the idea of a bus made me chuckle. You will understand why when you go...

send me your snail mail address and I will have an island map sent to you. We do have a bus system of a sort. It does not run on any fixed schedule, however.

Thx Michael, sent you my email...and thx Grasshopper, I've seen that map but the little one is too little (partial old age blindness)! and the enlargement to segmented for printing! I guess I'll have to wait till we arrive. O well...

here in San Antonio we have tourista buses that look like San Francisco streetcars and are run on propane that only run in the downtown area so people dont have to walk so far. They are free run by our city government and probably run from one end of downtown to the other per hour. This makes it possible to see all the landmarks the Alamo, the riverwalk etc. in one day. That's what I was really referring to.

Rebecca, when you get to Bonaire, I think you will see why there is nothing like you are referring to

I keep getting this visual with people waiting for a bus, dressed in their shorties with their snorkel, fins and masks and maybe a tank or two. LOL. So not Bonaire.

I love the fact that your packages include car rental when we went, I would'nt book it any other way, although a bus may be a good idea in the future but really no where to go without your dive gear so you would have to load all of that also.
