I'm trying to get some info regarding Hertz cars. I haven't seen a single post from anyone who has rented a vehicle while on Bonaire from Bonaire. We rented a car for our stay and there price was so much cheaper than anyone else. I'm getting suspicious of the deal. Any comments?

OOPS, I meant to say "a vehicle while on Bonaire from HERTZ"

Rosanne, I stayed at the Divi Flamingo in December. On our last day we rented from the "on site" Hertz location a Chevrolet S-10 double cabin pickup truck (manual w/ac). Only vehicle they had left - we were just "walk-ins" with no advance reservations. We were leaving the next morning on the AA 5055 flight at 7am. The airport location was closed at that hour so we made a map of where we parked the vehicle and wrapped the key up in the map and "tossed" it into the Hertz office through their little opening at 6am. No additional charges were applied. I am not recommending doing that - just letting you know what we did. We are headed back on April 7th for a two week trip (Woooowoooo!) and will be using the Hertz Divi Flamingo "on site" location again. This time I have reserved "on-line" and it appears I can save approximately $15 USD by reserving "on-line" instead of being a "walk-in." Yes, this does include the 5% Bonaire tax & the $3.50 USD Bonaire government tax. Exact same vehicle. I also have a smaller 4 passenger (automatic w/ac) reserved for another day which is costing me even less for the 24 hr period. Even though we have only used Hertz once, I hope this helps. We are using them again (mostly for convenience since they are at the Divi) but I can happily report - no problems with them. Diane

Hi Rosanne, I will be looking for you and your family to say hello. My boyfriend & I are leaving Detroit and flying to Houston on the 7th. Trying the new over night 11:40pm Continental flight to Bonaire arriving at 5:25am ... so, we won't actually be there until Saturday, April 8th. But we may end up in the same dive orientation that morning (if you are divers.) We've got a timeshare/studio for the full two weeks. 2nd week there we will be joined by an additional 50 Michigan divers. Another reason we reserved our Hertz vehicle ahead of time. See you on Bonaire ... above and below the waterline. Diane
