I have not used them personally but have heard nothing but good things about them. Talk to Michael Gaynor at INFO@CHATNBROWSE.COM

James:

I'll respond to this and your other rental car question ( http://www.oldbonairetalk.com/newsgroup/messages/27/213252.html?1108740296 ) in this message.

Short answer: I have found them just fine.

Long answer: Bonaire is a small place so most car rental operations have an airport presence. There are no airport shuttles to remote car rental lots. Budget, AB, Nettys, etc., etc. are all at the airport. Over the years, I have used Nettys, Island, Budget (most recently) and (I think long ago) Avis. A good listing is at http://www.infobonaire.com/transportation.html

A few thoughts:
a) Price shop but be sure you are comparing apples to apples. Taxes and insurance can really add up. So can extra driver fees...
b) Get the right vehicle for your needs. My preference is the Hilux pick up truck as it is great for kitting up and handles the roads in the park well.
c) Understand your insurance needs and what coverage you are buying. A great discussion of some of the options can be found at: http://www.oldbonairetalk.com/newsgroup/messages/32/213001.html?1108738625 . Not all rental policy insurance is the same -- some covers vandalism while some don't; different deductibles, etc. The same for credit card policies -- for example, many do not cover pickups.
d) If you are staying for just over a week (or two) and arriving after dark, consider taking a cab to your hotel and picking up the car the next day. This is typically cheaper than the extra day of car rental, makes it easier to deal with luggage, and allows you to pick up the car the next day. You can still drop it at the airport.
e) When shore diving, leave your car unlocked and your windows at least partially down. Leave *nothing* of value in the car.

Have a great trip!

James, I've rented from Budget twice when on Bonaire, and both times were very happy with their vehicle and service. Renting AB in 20 days (package deal) so we will see how they are...

Have a great trip!

Don't haul your bags unless traveling by yourself. Find a spot and pick'm up when you get the vehicle.. Ron
