We are headed to Bonaire for the first time in three days. Do you have any suggestions as to where we can buy a lock and cable or chain for the car's spare tire?

Hi Richard,

Look at Kooyman, Kaya Korona 11.
But it is difficult to get there, because they are digging in the kaya Korona already for nearly half-a-year, (didn't find any gold up to now).
You best drive the Kaya Neerlandia/Kaya Tribon, from the Kaya Grandi/Kaya Gob. N. Debrot until you reach the Kaya Korona, go to the right through the mud, and you'll find Kooyman.

Harrie

Richard, You can also visit your local bicycle shop and purchase a cable with an integrated resettable combination lock. They work well on many items you want to keep secure.

we bought ours at Wal-mart before we left home. It was about $7. Just a heavy-duty plastic coated bike chain with a lock. We had no problem with rust either. Made us feel a bit safer about the spare tire problems on the island.

We got a chain at kooymans, but brought a good sesamee combo lock form home. We wrap the lock in a plastic bag & twist tie to keep salt and road gunk off it. A tatami mat is nice for laying on while changing tires, even nicer is a air fill adapter to go on your high pressure hose to just fill the flat up so you can get it changed at lisa gas. Sometimes getting the wheel off is a BIG job.

Seb,

my air fill adapter works off the low pressure hose inflator hose....wouldn't leave the parking lot without it (plus regulator and air)
