Jan & Ruth,
We are suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms since leaving Bonaire a week ago today! I don't think that we can live without your food and hospitality much longer. We miss "Taya" (Theodora) and "Yella" (Miriela) so much. We miss watching dinner "walk" in the door late in the afternoon (what's on the menu for tonight's catch of the day?). Say hi to the girls for us - we miss you all and we miss Bonaire! Our trip was too short and we must come back again. How does next week sound? (I can dream, can't I?)
Mike, Kathy and Jessy
Sand Dollar, C2

P.S. I wrote a note to you yesterday under "Terrace and Mango's", but suspect you would miss it since it is an old thread.

Kathy, I have to agree with you.....Mangos was fabulous! Joe and I ate there quite a few times on our recent trip. Food was absolutely wonderfully delicious. Joe said their goat stew was the best he has ever had on Bonaire and he has had a lot of goat stew! I tried the local dishes too and could not believe how delicious they all were. The burgers are to die for, too....amazing!

Everyone who goes to Bonaire must make a trip up to Mangos at the Sand Dollar Resort and try everything!! You will not walk away disappointed....or hungry. The quantities of food cannot be challenged anywhere....guaranteed doggie bags. Even the burgers came out with fries and fresh cantelope slices, etc. Soooo good!!! Congratulations to everyone involved with Mangos. Carole

Thanks girls! I've been stuck in Curacao the past week (business/dr's etc), and I missed it myself, especially when I saw the prices in their resort restaurants-yikes! It's good to call Bonaire home.

Right now I am so jealous, Ruth, that you are there and I am not. Welcome home! Please don't forget to give my greetings to your wait staff - we really love those two gals! They were so great to us. You have done a fine job with that whole operation. So, everyone, please listen to Carole and I - EAT AT MANGOS! You won't regret it! Kathy

I told Miriella your greetings at lunch today--she rewarded me with an even bigger than usual smile (if you can imagine that). You guys made it a lot of fun for us too. I'll print this off to show everyone. Thanks again!

ps--would it make you feel any better if I told you it rained here this morning?

It's hard to imagine a bigger smile on Miriella - I didn't think that was possible. I'll have to send you a picture that we have of the two of them - you'll love it.

Would it make you feel better if I told you we had 0.25 inches of rain here just yesterday? And that was just a wetting! I think that it sprinkled twice on Bonaire while we were there - for a grand total of about 60 seconds! If you blinked, you'd have missed it! How much did it rain?

There are still some puddles left today...sun should dry them up by afternoon though.

Ruth, how many no-shows did you have today? Looking forward to pulling up a barstool in a couple of weeks and popping a salitos (unless you have finished them all off, and the new cargo shipment hasn't come in yet!)

I am anxious to see the new colors, and taste the new food at Mangos...last time i was there (year and half or so ago) i had my birthday celebration there with some btalkers, jake, linda, bas and yana:-)

Cynde, If we had known you were coming along behind us we wouldn't have worked so hard at depleting the supply of Salitos! Hope we left some for you. :-) Pop one for us, too, please. I have to see if we can get it here. That's some great stuff!

While we were there, I celebrated my birthday! Jan chilled a bottle of some Luna di Luna for me and we had a toast pool side. What a lovely evening!

Ruth, hope that you got to enjoy splashing in the puddles. Was it enough rain to help things grow, or was it just a tease?
