We have been back home for a week now, so can finally get to posting, etc. We were in Bonaire 2 weeks, stayed at BelMar. We really like it because it is clean, nice, and well maintained. The only downside is it is a little farther to get food. As for the food this time in Bonaire, here is our experience. Please bear in mind, every day can provide a different experience due to the chef and the wait-staff. Mostly it is very good. I occasionally see comments that people think the food is a bit pricey, however, considering the cost of electricity, water, and how much is shipped in, we feel the prices are reasonable. You can have a good lunch for $15 and a good dinner for $25, plus drinks. We ate at Bravo, Lucille’s new place. It is a bit confusing to get to, but the food is really worth it. We ate there twice and the food was superb each time. She does now have a FaceBook page as Lucille Bravo. We ate at Bistro de Paris 3 or 4 times and each time it was excellent, and the portions are very generous. Patrice is a very good and personable chef/owner. We went to Cactus Blue twice. As usual, the food is very good, fresh, and the staff, including Hagen are very helpful. Dined at Wil’s only once. We had heard good things about it, however, our experience was not what we expected. The waiter must have been on his first day. He had everything written on a scrap of paper and had a hard time reading it. We asked for water several times with no response. He got one order completely wrong. Both entrees were fair, at best. We did speak to other people around after that, and all had good experiences, so again, one bad experience is not a turn-off, we just ran out of days. Ate at Unbelievable twice and it was an amazing surprise. We just sort of stumbled on it and were very pleased with how good the food was. We had not even heard of it before, but the food and service was quite good. The upstairs outside dining is perfect with the nice breeze. We went to Maiky’s Snack once and the stewed goat was excellent. Again, ran out of time to go back. Went to Sunset Grill twice and it was very good both times. Fish was really fresh. City Café is still really good, especially for lunch. We ate there 4-5 times. The food is good, the staff is very helpful. They make great burgers (for my other half) and a lamb schwarma that is also really good. We ate at Roomer’s twice, neither time was anything special. The second time, my fish was so over-cooked it was crunchy and dry. The staff is very nice. Overall, our dining experiences were very good and are ready to go back.
