I don't remember the name, I'm sure someone will help me out. We were on an SI and stopped by the Deli in the new strip mall where Depak has opened the wine store (across from Michael's). We split a sandwich and it was very very good. We also went to the wine store to get some wine. Great selection and good pricing.

I don't remember how much the sammie was, but it was inexpensive and good.

It's the Eli Deli. Ana does a great job, and she has a nice assortment of foods available for purchase, in addition to her sandwiches and salads.

I second that. I got a ham and cheese. It was well priced. Might actually be the best H&C I've ever had. Now it was on a different bread with an unusual cheese that I was not used to so it may just be the uniqueness of the experience, but my whole family enjoyed it.

If I have one gripe it is that they close too early. There were many times when I thought it would be nice, after a long hard day of diving, to just grab a sandwich there and eat at the casa, rather than going out on the town.

Those sandwiches would be great inbetween dives as well.

Very good fresh breads.

Highly recommend!

My suggestion would be to have take away coffee... we stopped there one day during a SI and they said they didn't have take away cups..

Do they have sea food salad that you could buy and take back to your room for lunches in the room?

I know Ana makes a shrimp salad, in addition to home-made potato salad and chicken salad. I haven't yet personally tried it, but it looked good with BIG shrimp!

We liked the place to, nice portion, fair price. Ana is a sweetheart, and she and her family had a very nice write-up in the Reporter a few issues ago, a true Bonaire love story for those interested. The deli is named after her daughter. Best cheese selection on the island IMHO and fun to eat lunch and watch the action at the circle.

Hi, could someone describe this location in more detail? I don't know where this strip mall is. We leave tomorrow and Eli's sounds yummy. Thanks.

Oops, no need to respond to my location question. I just saw that the subject heading was deli across from Sand Dollar.

Went there for lunch today,it was packed with people when we arrived. We did manage to get a table and the service was good once we sat down.I ordered the ham egg and cheese and did not recognize it when it was served.

It looked a little strange but the food was very fresh and delicious! It was also a nice short walk from harbor village. The nice lady apologised for the slow service when she caught her breath but it was unneeded, our service was fine.
There was a huge building fire a little south of the radio station while we were eating. It was mostly out on our walk back.
I imagine we will be eating there again before we leave.:-)

You are right that the sandwiches are different from their similarly named cousins in the states. But I've never been disappointed. Great bread, great meats, great cheese. And very friendly.
