We are blowing our $$ on accomodations this trip with babysitter. We are looking at spending alot of our time at the villa, cooking in or doing take-out. My husband and I will be doing dinners out a few nights. I see that Pantigonia's Tues/Sat special, Cactus Blue's Early Bird/ Mona Lisa's bar menu, Bobby Jan's takeout. Any other great must do's and great values? Thanks in advance.

If you are referring to Patagonia all you can eat, it was only for low season. You may want to look at Paradise Moon fajittas on Thursdays, and the take out at China Nobo is HUGE portions. Of course, KFC is one of my favorites.

best deal is Mona Lisa's 13 USD bar hap menu. Choose from 3 items and eat outside or in the bar area...Mags and I share a Nadia Snack item for about 12,50 guilders.

go to the chicken lady (la carnicerina latina) saturday morning about 1030 or 11AM and pick up some chickens for lunch or save them in the fridge for dinner.

other good places are maiky snack and rose inn during the day. mi banana, hilltopper, and the chinese restaurant on kaya korona (is it called peking? it's in antriol near progresso). the mixed grille at casablanca is good (i don't know if they have that at patagonia too)...you'll have enough food left over for a few more meals.

Lize also makes food on weekends and her nasi ramus is big enough for two, nafl 17.50. She also makes Roti for nafl 12.50 but you have to call to be sure she has it. The surinam in niki boko is lots bigger and has more veggies. It is not typical surinam but I also prefer it to the others which sometimes have too much curry and not enough chicken!!

Roti is like a burrito filled with curry..Pietri, the Surinamese at the end of Emerenciana? The seaside location at Coco's is nice and 20,00 for a night out I can splurge once a month..HUGS

This thread is making me very hungry! Now...if only somebody would put together a map with these "local" places identified. Sort of like the map of the stars homes you buy on the corner in Beverly Hills, except this is "map of delicious and local Bonairean food."
