Yes and more to boot. The new restaurant Brisa Del Mar is on the property and I am told the polars are colder than the amstels!

Henk from Bongo's is working on another restaurant project further south. Don't have more public details at this time...

Yep, Henk's (and others) new restaurant project is the former Old Inn, opposite the entrance of Plaza Resort... Will re-open under new name and a very different look I have heard. They are working on it right now and will probably need another couple of weeks..

We ate at Bongo's last Sunday evening. The raised platform was already dismanteled, and we were told that Tuesday was their last day. We had a fabulous meal, (there was 6 of us), and we all were very pleased with our food and service. The chef does an EXCELLENT job. I'm very sad to see them shut down. The Old Inn site can't provide the ocean front experience, which added to the charm of the meal.

I'm really going to miss the Friday night barbecue at Bongo's...the barbecue was great and the atmosphere casual and friendly. I hope Henk is successful at his new location!

Windsurfer, thanks for your post. I (and I am sure Smack) look forward to visiting Henk's (and others) new venture during our next visit.

Johnny, instead of a hug, I'll buy you a meal and a few Amstels at Henk's (and others) new place. Okay?

thanks all for the info....sounds like something will take its place. man wish you hadn't reminded me of bongo's b-b-q, mmm good. was the bar at eden beach part of bongo's, has that changed too?

Best wishes to Henk. Old Inn has changed hands so many times, I'd welcome the knowledge that breakies, burgers, and his menu would be the same, food was good. Good luck to Henk.

Wait, you mean they're not even using the beach barat Eden Beach? It's just sitting empty?

Cyn, On Sunday, the raised dining area was already gone. We sat near the bar. We rode past on Thursday on our way to Rappel and from the water it appeared that the bar was empty. Our waiter didn't mention what was happening with the bar, only the restaurant. I had the coconut curry chicken, and it was to die for! I'll miss that place. We sure resist change!

Thanks Gail. By the look of the cams, looks like the bar is empty. Such a great location, and cool visual, it's a shame. But, that's the price of business I guess. Hopefully they will reopen the bar at least.

Maybe that is why City Cafe is so awesome now???

All of the times we've eaten there, John has had the chef step out so he could compliment her. Yes, her! And she did a fantastic job with every meal.
