Be aware that what is usually served on Bonaire is Caribbean Spiny lobster (no claws), not New England/Maine type lobster. Capriccios has a pretty darn good lobster pasta, too.

Is the lobster served on Bonaire usually fresh or 'previously frozen'? Caribbean or other?

Some places have the lobster fresh(fly-In) but most has been frozen. Lobster is not harvested on the Island. Indangered Species on Bonaire...

Hi
I do not live on Bonaire, but have been going there since 1980 every year. I would say when fresh seafood is mentioned on Bonaire, we are speaking about fin fish. NOT lobster, not scallops, not clams, not conch and not shrimp. Most likely Wahoo, Dorado (Mai Mai the Hawaiian name) and sometimes Barracuda.
Locals please stop me if I'm wrong!!
Mickey

Hi Folks,
I must agree with Mickey. Lobster can be found in the carib but not what one would be used to on the east coast of the US. The big three that Mickey has mentioned are a sure bet and we cannot forget the smoked marlin at Wil's Tropical Grille.
Thanks,
Dan and Julie
