Are there many restaurants that are within walking distance of the Divi?

When you check into the Divi, ask for a key to the North Gate. Use this gate to walk into town. It is a very nice, safe and reasonably well-lit walk along the shore. Within a few blocks of the Divi are several good places to eat, many of them right along this walkway/road.

Donna & Gorgio's is a short walk on the prominaide to town and is always the first resturant we visit.

Walking with groceries from town can be a bit too hot during the day. I did once and know I won't do that again.

Jennifer, I just returned yesterday from my visit to Divi. We found that the Warehouse had the best overall selections for food and bakery. It is 3 blocks East of Divi and an easy walk. If you have heavy stuff a cab back is also easy. For produce go through the North gate and walk to the Venezulea produce market across from City Cafe. They have fresh fruit and vegetables at a very reasonable price. Eat breakfast at the Calabas on the Divi property or walk to City Cafe. Also, Last Bite Bakery is great.

Don't forget about La Flambouyant in town. They are open for lunch and dinner (late lunch too). Great French Onion Soup, quiche, filets, etc. It is one of our favorites. Also, Capriccio's in town. We found that the Warehouse had the best overall selections for food and bakery. It is 3 blocks East of Divi and an easy walk.

Cynde, you are correct about the Warehouse. However, I believe it is closer or at least as close as Cultimara and it is a nicer store. The fresh rolls are excellent and they have the best cheese and meat selection.

George...you're right about proximity to Cultimara...you have to remember that I am "heat intolerant" so three LONG blocks for me would put me in heat exhaustion...lol...people think I'm joking about my heat intolerance, but I just got back and 2 days I had to take a cold shower in the morning, and then douse myself with water before I got in the truck...and it's January...locals were wearing long sleeves!

FYI...The warehouse does have good large plastic bags, with handles and they charge 25 cents for them.

Buy your grocery bag at the Donkey Sang. (cloth with handles) and pack it every trip like my wife did... Ron
