He'll probably protest my assessment as he is a modest fellow...teehee but we followed instructions of BT and had the pier table our last night on Bon. Was fantabulous. The atmosphere couldn't have been more romantic, the conversation with the proud owner interesting and amusing and the food was mouth watering. Starting with shrimp bisque, smooth, buttery and full of chunky shrimp pieces, along with actually served HOT bread was terrific. We chose Rainbow Runner as catch of the day, Todd's with no sauce, mine with the garlic/caper sauce which was just right and crisp/tender carrots in a slightly lemony sweet seasoning, good crisp/tender broccoli and a good just plain old baked potato. The margarita was good too and we were so full of all that great food, we had absolutely no room left for dessert. Wish we had! Rich is wonderful and his establishment is a wonder. This is a no miss experience for anyone with a romantic soul. Our meal was the perfect ending to a perfect week, as I mentioned to him upon leaving. Thanks so much Rich.

Going out to dinner at Richards on our last night has become a tradition for my buddy and me. This year was no exception. Sitting at a table overlooking the sea, we chose the catch of the day and it was very good, as usual. The carrots with the lemony sweet seasoning as mentioned above were the best I have ever had. I am not generally one to choose carrots over fish or rice or most anything else, actually, but Richard has a real winner in that recipe! Although dinner at Richards can be a special occasion, the prices when changed from guilders to US dollars are not any more expensive than at hotel restaurants, so my suggestion is to take an evening and treat yourselves. A reservation is a very good idea especially if there are more than 2 of you, but we just showed up early at about 6:15 and got a great table. We split a piece of Key Lime pie for dessert, and it was a perfect end to a delicious dinner.

Does Richard's have email? I would like to make a reservation for the pier table for our last night on Bonaire, August 18.

Rich doesn't even have a cell phone. He's very laid back.

Linda, when were you there? I was there for two weeks (just got back last night) and there was a very nice looking couple sitting at the bar who then moved out to the table on the pier. I think it was a Thursday night maybe?

Kathy, unfortunately we weren't the "very nice looking couple" you saw, so they are still out there somewhere! We ate at Richard's on Friday, July 14, since my buddy only stays for a week while I get to be there for two. Also, we were not on the pier, just right by the rail overlooking the sea. I doubt that anyone could get the table on the pier without a reservation. Glad that you enjoyed your meal too!
