Hello, My wife and I live in a resort town (Jackson Hole) and we have a few restaurants that we tell our visiting friends they must go to (our favorites). Can some of the experienced talkers recommend a few places. Also, it will be my wife's birthday on the 9th, would Richards be the best place to celebrate where we can have dinner by the ocean?
Thanks,
Norm

Hi Norm! You will get a lot of advice, hope you are ready for it!

Here is our repeat list. It is short because we plan on trying some new locations on our next trip. There are a lot of choices on Bon.

Casablanca (go early in your trip and order the mixed grill - you will have leftovers!)
Wil's Tropical Grill
Pasa Bon Pizza
Gibi's on Tuesdays

Richards is a lovely place for a celebration. Be sure to ask for the table down on the dock.

Hi, the best Restaurant that we encountered on our trips to Bonaire is the Blue Moon. Chef Martin is an excellent cook, he usually finds time to talk to his guests to find out if they enjoyed their dinner, and he creates a wonderful variety of dishes in his menu. We always had a great meal there. In addition, the waterfront location adds to an intimate evening.
Have Fun on your trip!
Arianna

Norm, much closer to where you are staying is Bistro de Paris. If your wife likes gourmet French cuisine, that's the place. If not, take her to Wil's Grill in town.
However, neither one is on the ocean. Several of the resorts north of the rotary (i.e. in your resort's area) have restaurants on the water.

Capriccio - Italian; home - made pasta
Chibi Chibi - @ the Divi
nice waterfront view; it's fun to
watch and feed the fish

I have to give Richads my first vote for a special dinner. Awesome food, view, and service! Bistro de Paris, and Lions Den rate up there with a bunch of others already mentioned. Have a wonderful time on Bonaire!!!
Kristin

Try Mona Lisa, which is in town, especially if you like fish.

Also,Norm, if you really want to make the birthday a special meal, at Richard's ( which is excellent) you can reserve the only table out on his dock. Check it out.Very romantic.

Overall, Dining on Bonaire is excellent. We currently stay for two weeks and don't repeat much.

If we do repeat, it would be at one of these:
1) Capriccio
2) Blue Moon
3) Kon Tiki
4) Richards

Enjoy your stay.

II think the best place in Bonaire is Richard's or Chibi Chibi at Flamingo Divi Resort.

Try the Swiss Chalet. Occassionally Noldie, the owner/chef along with Suzie, the other owner/hostess, will offer an OFF THE MENU item, called Hungarian Goulash. It's far better than what you think. Infact, when word gets out that he has made a pot, people come from all over the island to get some. The other regular dishes on the menu are equally delightful. All his sauces make you want to lick the plate. Great place located at the old Super Corner.

We love to eat and cook gourmet food, and travel, and our best meal anywhere, anytime was at Rum Runner's. Their 'special dinner' is designed by them - it was exquisite food. We sat right by the waterfront, close enough to watch the 6 ft tarpon(Charlie), parrotfish, etc 15 feet below us, and watch the sunset over the water. The fresh flowers, linen tablecloth and chocolate writing of "Happy 18th Anniversary" around the desert dish added romance and ambience, but the FOOD was the highlight.

We also enjoyed Wil's Tropical Grill and returned there a couple of times just for the chocolate lava cake. It is worth the 20-30 minute wait it takes to prepare.

We ate on the pier at Richards. It was a romantic setting and wonderful service, but the food didn't really measure up to the first two listed. Not bad though.
