Count us in! Mark's brother and girlfriend will also be "on island" and I am sure they would love to join in. Thanks so much Josie, Chet, Jean, Jake and Linda! Looking forward to the dive and the company.

Chet, is this a firm date? As you can see, there are a bunch of us coming in on that date that would like to attend. Is Sunday a possible option? If not, maybe we can plan something else during our stay. After the 8" snowfall yesterday and snow up to our kitchen window, I am ready for Bonaire.

So sad, I am one of the ones coming in on Saturday. I planning on Gibi's on the fourth, thanks to Josie giving us a lift Corney, I hope you and John are going to be there.

And, Darlene, I am one of the ones leaving on Saturday...the social stuff is always the hardest to coordinate!

Will Gibi's be open on March 4 as that is the last night of Carnival?

It's always rough picking a date, when you know some people can make it and others can't.

I volunteer my husband Mark as part of the clean-up crew at Jake and Linda's! I freely admit that he does lots around the house! And because I am always fair I will join him too! Thanks Josie for thinking of the clean-up crew!

Chet .... so I guess I am not the only one stressing about what to bring for the pot luck! I know that feeling is probably only one I have here at home and once I hit "island time" it won't even be an issue. Tom Cousino did tell me it was my responsibility to bring Vermont Cheddar....hmmmmm.
|
By Josie (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #745) on Friday, February 7, 2003 - 2:19 pm: |
Oh, yes, Susan --- Vermont Cheddar would be great!! I too have NO IDEA what to bring.

Josie, thanks for checking. Will try to make it to Gibi's on the 4th. Hopefully might stop in for a quick hello Sat. March 1 if we have any energy left after the trip down. See you soon.

This is a little off the subject. We are planning on coming to the dinner at Gibi's in March and I am wondering about the food there. Would someone give me an idea of what they serve? Thanks, ML

There are six coming down in our group on Feb 28. I would like to make the party on the 1st and will try to enlist my fellow travelers. I will try to bring a New Orleans King Cake, a Mardi Gras tradition in these parts. (if it survives the trip down.) Where is the Richters place located? How far is it from the Divi? Looking forward to it. RustyB. from Baton Rouge.

Rusty ... looking forward to meeting you at the barbecue and to the Mardi Gras cake. I will leave the directions to Jake and Linda's to someone else as I can get there but would not be good on the directions without being in the truck with you as I don't know street names etc. Not far from Divi since not much is far on the island. Divi is at the south end of town, Richter's on the north.

Eden Beach Resort (soft sandy beach with palm trees) located just north of Harbour Village. Nice palmfrond-topped beach bar. I don't know if they having weddings there but they might consider it.

A different angle...why not hire the water taxi and get married on Klien Bonaire? Nice beach and really private!

How about-- Lac Bay-- very beautifull area-- the water has so many different colors and having the windsufers or the Kite boarders in the background would give a bit of color-- or at the Kon Tiki-- just the other side of the bay.... And then there is the Salt Mounds- Blue Sky, white mountains and pink water-- Wow--

Thanks Gregg. Is the cam that shows the beach in the Richter's back yard? I'm asking this because I thought they may be on the water. It might be easier to find if we're riding bicycles along the shoreline.
