Seb, I hope we can actually meet on this trip. I think I saw you with Jake and Linda at Bobbejan's in Feb before they left for Miami. And once we got home we discovered what may be an underwater picture of you taking pictures! We were staying a few doors north of their house so Small Wall was our "house reef". One late afternoon we were out for a photo dive and saw a very intent solo diver doing photography. That night when going thru our shots we realized that diver was in some of our shots. When we got home I remember reading one of your posts, I think, about doing solo diving that week. So my guess is you are our mystery diver! And about the cut and paste -- do it all the time at work but somehow never connected doing it here -- takes awhile for the brain cells to fire sometimes!

Cheez Whiz, Susan, we coulda dived together. We probably sorta did. I was going north and you were headed south and above me? Send along a snap of me diving if you think of it, and I'll tell you if it's me.

Hey Seb... sent you a private email this a.m. about the picture and then actually found it tonight. You will probably laugh when you see it as all you can really see is a tank and bubbles because of the angle. Of course I am sure you will recognize your own bubbles ...

I still can not believe that I am going to miss my main grillin and chillin compadre Wally this year. Last year at Jakes, on New Years Day, this man spent a good 4 hours at the grille. He never misturned a rib or a piece of chicken the whole time. Rumor has it, and it has not been confirmed by Info Bonaire, that Pablo of the Argentinian Grille is trying to get Wally to move permanently to Bonaire so he can put him full time on the terrace grille.

By James T. McPeak (Experienced BonaireTalker - Post #242) on Saturday, June 12, 2004 - 12:42 am: |
Well, I just have this to say about that. There are strange men who get all dressed up in cammies, making duck calls with wierd pipes in their mouths. The only purpose is to pull the trigger on some poor mallard that just happens to go flying by at that particular moment. I, on the other hand, have perfected a call, by my own windpipe, that can summon an animal about 15 times the size of a lame duck. This animal that I summon has its own sanctuary on a Caribbean island. It commands more land on Bonaire than any of us together will ever own. It does not flinch a bit when a KLM jet comes in at 3 in the morning over its turf. There is no duck that can make this claim to fame. It has stature and integrity on this planet. Hell, even Jesus rode this magnificent beast on Palm Sunday 2000 years ago. Why do I make an ass out of myself calling this animal? Why have I perfected this ancient call? How can I sit on the deck of the Casablanca restaurant and have the beast come up off the street to eat my leftover asparugus and onions? How can I make a dive with Kathi at Alice, come out of the water, make the call, and have two of them standing next to my car? If you think it is easy being me on Bonaire, and having this gift and such a majestic following, just walk in my Tevas once!!!

We used to have an open house at our townhouse whenever we come down and now we would love to have everyone who is on the island over to our place in Hato at Kaya Utrecht #30! This will be an outdoor event, with snacks, beer, wine and soda to Christen our new place! We will shoot for July 12th Monday night at about 7pm. Please email me at eginocchio@comcast.net if you are interested in attending and number of people so I can estimate on the beer (Amstel and Polar) and wine. Cheers to all!

Doug, I don't know about any candy, just a buckeye nut, I have a hankering to see one. I used to have one but I don't know where it wandered off to. I figure with all these Ohioans(?) coming, it would be a snap. Of course a California baked Buckeye might have a certain transcontinental cachet.
