I just found out that the new ferry has arrived in Bonaire today!!!! It will go from Bonaire to Curacao twice daily for only $50.00!!! Boy is that going to solve a lot of getting stuck in Curacao problems!!! I have some pics that I will forward over to Jake to post.

Here is the schedule they are handing out for November:

6:30 Bon-Cur
8:30 Cur-Bon
16:30 Bon-Cur
18:30 Cur-Bon
November special Nafl 90 for roundtrip

Bonaire Tel. 717-7001, Fax: 717-7002
Curacao Tel. 461-7002, Fax: 465-7002

It says it docks at the Kleine Werf in Curacao. So far we have not been able to determine where that is. Curacao has a lot more options for docking than Bonaire.

Any Idea how long the trip will take from Cur to Bon? The photo looks great, and it looks like a high speed cat. Is there any info on the boat available. ie. power, design capacity, etc...Thanks. Tom

Thomas, she is definitely a "fast cat". An article in the Bonaire Reporter said the trip will take between 1:15 to 1:40.

Kleine Werf is in the canal, directly across from the cruise ship terminal in Willemstad. Here's a map, with Kleine Werf circled in red.

Forgot to add that it is approximately a 30 minute taxi ride to the Curacao airport from Kleine Werf.

Sandy wants to know why Kleine Werf has an e on the end of Kleine, but Klein Bonaire does not? Different language? Different gender?

Steve...If I remember it's about an $18 to $20 taxi fare from dock to airport. Still about the same? And is there a surcharge for baggage and extra passengers? I've only traveled alone with no bags.

Barry, I have no idea. Our cab ride to the Plaza and back to CUR was comped by ALM. (I wonder if the cabbie ever got paid?)

I imagine there will be a published taxi rate for airline passengers, etc. soon. I am sure Jake and TCB will post it on infobonaire. BTW Curacao has a fairly good public transortation system from town to Hato Airport.

Kleine is feminin and means small
Klein is masculin and means small

I arrive in Curacao at 2:30pm and the boat leaves at 6:30pm. Do you think I will have time to do any shopping in Curacao ? I have never been there and don't know if there is any shopping possibilities either near the airport or, better, near the harbour.
Also, where does it arrive in Bonaire ? Is it a big harbour there ?

There is shopping near the harbour where the ferry takes off from Curacao. Check in with the ferry first, I think you have to be there at least 1 hour in advance but I'm not sure.

On Bonaire, the ferry arrives at one of the Kralendijk piers so you end up right in town
