I don't see a current thread on this so would like to know if someone could share current needs for the Hoppner house? I'd love to know how many boys are currently there and what their needs are. I will be back on island in late July and want to pack my suitcase again with needed things. I have already started shopping but would appreciate a little guidance to ensure things purchased are truly needed. I printed off old posts on this and have that for reference but maybe needs have changed?

I will get in touch with Patty to address needs for the local day care.

Thanks in advance.....

Kobi, I will be getting some things to send to Elvison and some other boys, and let you know when to sxpect it. Some new sheets, pencils, things like that. Probably not as exciting as the last delivery... lol

I hope it's still okay to do that ! Maybe I can fly to Virginia and bring it my self. :-)

Kelly just let me know and you can use UPS if you want this time; might be cheaper and we can track it :-) I have already started shopping and hope things I have are needed; going by an older list. I know I will have some sheets, socks and other things too. Let me know when to expect your delivery and YOU :-) Come on down as that goofball Bob Barker would say!!!

Love to have you visit anytime.

Well some of those things they certainly ALWAYS need and can use !!! I am trying to get an updated list as well and will let you know when I have some things to mail. We can do UPS, no problemo !!

I'll do some research on drive time to your neck of the woods.

I emailed Renee, who runs the sponsor program for the boys at the Hoppner home, and she is going to call next week to get an updated list. She thinks there are seven boys at the home currently.

Michael Gaynor has offered to take a cake to the home on each boy's birthday. He has an envelope in his office at Chat n' Browse for anyone who wants to offer a donation for the cakes. If you aren't going to be on island, but want to contribute to the cakes, you can do so through BTCI paypal account, paypal@bonairetalk.com, or send a check or cash to:

BTCI, Inc.
P.O. Box 4061
Dana Point, CA 92679

We will get your donation to Michael.

Cynde...thanks for this update! We will certainly see Michael in July and will donate toward the cake fund; that is awesome.

I went shopping this weekend; and everyday since for that matter and found some birthday banners and various decoration things they can use at the home; reusable things which I think will be a nice jesture when those birthdays roll around. I definately would like to know how many boys and their ages this way I can shop for age appropriate clothes and fun things.

Thanks again for posting this info and the paypal link. If we can all just do a little it would make a HUGE difference in their lives.

:-)
